N.M. Voter-fraud inquiry now involves 64,000 cases
Voter-fraud inquiry now involves 64,000 cases
New Mexico State Police will review a staggering 64,000 voter cases to determine if any fraud has occurred in recent elections.
Public Safety Director Gorden Eden outlined the scope of the investigation during an interview. He said the voter files were turned over to state police by Secretary of State Dianna Duran.
Duran, a Republican, publicly told legislators in March that her staff had uncovered 37 instances of possible voter fraud, though she said her investigation had only begun.
That small stack of what Duran called “questionableâ€NO AMNESTY

Anyone who truly believes that there is no or little voter fraud is an ignoramus.
Hmmm, let's see... New Mexico, on southern border, high population of illegals many of whom have several documents - stolen & forged - they claim not to have. Nah... no recipe for voter fraud here!

Its a clear indicator that the hispanic community is going to pull out all the stops to swing the political officers to their side. Be it legally or illegally they are doing it. Since they have no respect for the laws of the USA to them voter fraud Isn't any more serious than spitting ont he street. That is why they fear photo ID cards. They want their illegal families cousins, kids and parents to remain here even though they are criminals. NM and Ca both need to crackdown on the voting system, take tough stands against any and all illegals within their communities. Its not racial profiling, its law enforcement.

64,000 Cases of Possible Voter Fraud Being Investigated in New Mexico

By Susan Jones
From the Santa Fe New Mexican: New Mexico Secretary of State Dianna Duran has turned over about 64,000 cases of what she calls possible voter fraud to the State Department of Public Safety for investigation.
That's more than 10 percent of the 607,700 people who voted in the 2010 general election in New Mexico -- and it's way more than the 37 cases of foreign nationals illegally voting that Duran mentioned at a legislative hearing earlier this year, the newspaper reported.
Duran mentioned the 37 cases of illegal voting while testifying in favor of a bill that would have required voters to show photo identification at the polls before casting ballots. She said at the time that in cross-checking voter registrations with a state Motor Vehicle Division database, her office had found 117 foreign nationals who had registered to vote. All of these, she said, had listed Social Security numbers on voter-registration forms that didn't match up with their names. At least 37 of those actually voted in state elections, Duran said at the time.
Duran's office admits that some of the 64,000 cases could turn out to be the result of clerical errors rather than criminal wrongdoing.
New Mexico's Voter ID bill, supported by Duran and Republican Gov. Susana Martinez, was tabled in mid-March.
