Our official language

More than 65 countries have declared English as their official language. The United States is not one of them.

Legislation was introduced to declare English as America's official language. But that legislation was blocked by special-interest groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union, the immigration lobby, the Southern Poverty Law Center, La Raza, various religious affiliations and others.

Before leaving office, Bill Clinton issued Executive Order 13166 requiring nearly every government agency in this country to accommodate nearly every language spoken in the United States, which in effect created a new civil right: the right not to speak English. Immigrants of past years were eager to learn English, realizing it was necessary to assimilate to their new country. They were eager to become Americans!

Call your representatives and demand that they pass legislation eliminating Executive Order 13166 and declaring English our national language.
