Current law unworkable, so enact reforms

Not many people may have heard of the Real ID Act. Under the original law, passed by Congress with little or no public debate in 2005 in response to the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, anyone who might be boarding an airliner in this country after Jan. 1, 2010, or entering a federal building, will need to present a “Real ID.â€
