Dec. 12, 2013 – Oregon couple arrested after nationwide child exploitation alert sentenced

A Salem couple arrested last year after a nationwide alert by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) seeking an unknown "Jane Doe" child pornographer, were sentenced this month to federal prison. Full Story

Dec. 10, 2013 – HSI Birmingham seizes $387,000 from bus bound for Mexico

HSI seized nearly $387,000 from three Mexican nationals in Cuba, Ala., Dec. 8, following the traffic stop of a passenger bus bound for Mexico.Full Story

Dec. 10, 2013 – British nationals plead guilty to terrorism-related charges after federal probe

Two British nationals pleaded guilty Dec. 10 in New Haven federal court to conspiring to provide and providing material support, including funds, personnel and physical items, to terrorists. The pleas follow an investigation by HSI and the FBI. Full Story

Dec. 13, 2013 – Ohio restaurant owners, managers indicted for hiring illegal workers

A federal grand jury returned a 23-count indictment charging six people for their roles in a conspiracy to hire illegal workers at a chain of restaurants in Stark and Summit counties and pay them less than minimum wage and sometimes only in tips. Full Story

Greek National Pleads Guilty in Narco-Terror Conspiracy
DEC 11 (WASHINGTON)
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrator Michele M. Leonhart and Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, today announced that Ioannis Viglakis, a/k/a "Pablo," pled guilty yesterday in Manhattan federal court to attempting to provide material support to the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia ("FARC"), a Colombian terrorist organization. Viglakis, a citizen of Greece, was arrested in Panama City, Panama, in coordination with Panamanian authorities during August 2012.

Inc., Belo Corp. and Sander Media LLC to divest their interests in KMOV‑TV, a CBS affiliate in St. Louis, in order to proceed with Gannett’s acquisition of Belo, and Sander’s related acquisition of six Belo television stations that Gannett cannot hold under Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules.
