Man charged with indecent liberties has already been deported once

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

A man is behind bars after being charged with indecent liberties with a teen.



Officials at Immigrations and Customs Enforcement placed an ICE detainer on Carlos Perez-Dominguez following his arrest. According to ICE, he was previously deported in December of 2013:
"ICE placed a detainer on Carlos Perez-Dominguez, a citizen of Mexico, with the Hanover County Jail following his arrest on local criminal charges. ICE previously removed Mr. Dominguez from the U.S. in December 2013. By issuing a detainer, ICE requests that a law enforcement agency notify ICE before releasing an individual to allow ICE to assume custody. Any immigration enforcement action ICE takes in this case will follow the complete adjudication of his criminal charges."

Dominguez, 30, is in the New Hanover County Jail under a $1.4 million secured bond on indecent liberties with a child charges.

He is also charged with child abuse, two counts of failure to appear on misdemeanor charges, and resist/delay/obstruct public officers.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, the victim in this case has been identified as a 14-year-old boy.
Dominguez's next court date is Aug. 14. According to ICE, any action they take in the case will occur after a potential criminal conviction in New Hanover County.
