It sounds like he has a green card (is a permanent resident) and took a seasonal job on a farm, which would make him a seasonal farm worker.

Many foreign workers also wonder whether they can apply for a Green Card when they have an H-2A visa.

The answer is that they can.

H-2A visa holders can apply for different types of Green Cards, whether they are Employment or Family based Green Cards...

and nothing has been done by the Republican state legislature to remove non citizen and illegal alien voters from our voter registration files!
