Denying Non-Emergency Medical Care to ILLEGALS

Collin County commissioners have drawn the ire of two prominent civil rights groups for their stance on illegal immigrants, but they’re getting plenty of support from residents.
Commissioners recently forbade nonprofit clinics from treating illegal immigrants with county funds.
The League of United Latin American Citizens and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund have since accused commissioners of discrimination and said they could be violating federal laws.
While the two sides clash, some residents throughout the Dallas area are commending the commissioners. Jerry Hoagland, the most outspoken commissioner on illegal immigration, said he’s received almost two dozen e-mails in support of the county policy, and only one opposed to it.
The supportive e-mails illustrate the rage some people feel over the illegal immigration issue.

Legal U.S. citizens do not receive free non-emergency medical treatment, why should illegals? If it is not considered discrimination for legal citizens, how can it be discrimination for illegals? This is total garbage.

[b]Wendi Hammond, a Plano lawyer, said commissioners shouldn’t require clinics to compile each patient’s name, age, address, medical diagnosis and last four digits of the Social Security number. Clinics must report the information to the county to be reimbursed for services.
