I first read the story and wondered to myself if the murdered was an illegal alien, one of many, in New Orleans doing construction work that "many Americans would like to be doing instead!" :twisted:

The tv news is reporting that he is a Mexican national and they can't find him. Duh!! This woman worked with my niece at the realty that is handling the sale of my folks' house. I hope they find this fker and put his ass to death.

Suspect named, SUV seized in Lafreniere Park killing

An arrest warrant was obtained today for a suspect in the beating death of a woman who was abducted while exercising in Lafreniere Park.

Jefferson Parish sherff's deputies said they are seeking Edmundo Cerda-Anima, 25, on a first-degree murder charge in the killing of Sandra Adams, 51, of Metairie. They said they developed Cerda-Anima as a suspect with help from the Wichita, Kan., Police Department, although the connection was not immediate clear.

The announcement came after deputies impounded a white Ford Expedition similar to the getaway vehicle that they were seeking in Adams' killing.

Deputies seized the vehicle Tuesday evening at an apartment building in the 500 block of Eisenhower Avenue, about a mile south of the Metairie park, a resident of the building said today. The resident, Karen Brown, said the vehicle had been driven by four construction workers who moved into the building three to four months ago.

It could not be determined whether deputies detained the four men. The Sheriff's Office planned a news conference this afternoon.

The park itself, a 155-acre crime scene on Tuesday, reopened to the public today with plans for entry restrictions after dark and talk of installing surveillance cameras.

Officials said all but one vehicular and pedestrian entrance will be closed at 7:30 p.m., 2-1/2 hours earlier than normal. The exception is the Downs Boulevard entrance just south of Veterans Memorial Boulevard, which will remain open until 10 p.m. Jefferson Parish officials are considering installing surveillance cameras at that entrance to monitor nighttime traffic.

The park reopened about 24 hours after Adams was found dead a half-mile away. Adams had entered the park Monday night with her son and one of his friends. The men went jogging, planning to meet up with her later for a ride home.

But they didn’t see her again until Tuesday at 6:30 a.m., after Adams’ battered body was found naked and face down in a gravel lot at David and Lynette drives, the ground around her head saturated with blood.

Preliminary autopsy work suggests Adams, 51, was beaten to death.

Sex abuse cited in Lafreniere Park killing

The person who abducted Sandra Adams from Lafreniere Park and killed her also "sexually abused" her, authorities said this afternoon.

While not specifying rape or some other form of molestation, Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies made the abuse disclosure at a news conference where they identified their suspect: Edmundo Cerda-Anima, 25, a Mexican national and construction worker who moved a few months ago into an apartment complex about a mile south of Lafreniere Park.

It was at that building, in the 500 block of Eisenhower Avenue, that deputies seized what they think is the getaway vehicle used by Adams' killer.

Deputies said they think Cerda-Anima has left the area. They have obtained a warrant to book him with first-degree murder.

They said they do not know his U.S. immigration status.

Cerda-Anima is one of two people registered in Kansas as owners of the white Ford Expedition that deputies seized Tuesday evening. Karen Brown, a resident of the apartment building, said the vehicle had been driven by four construction workers.

Yea, a lot of those jobs are government contracted. Therefore your government is paying them directly. The Kitrina people wanted to go back home and help rebuild. But no, the Mexicans had took their jobs. They are so lost. We have many of them in the area.

I think I told you before but I know a lady that lives in the Irish Channel section and she used to walk in her neighborhood at night. She says she can't and won't now since 30 or so illegals live in a house around the corner! :evil:

Who is in control?

Once again this is the result of allowing the importation of lawless, uneducated savages who for the first time in their lives are expected to act like civilized human beings, but due to their limited intelligence are unable to act in a civilized manner. I was watching MSNBC and our wonderful bearded wonder Juan Hernandez was being interviewed by Pat Buchanon. Pat was all over him quoting facts and figures detailing the negative poliical, social and economic impact of illegal immigration on our society especially in the area of law enforcement and crime. All you heard from Hernandez was the usual rhetoric about how wonderful illegal immigrants are and the contributions they make to society. He stated the Senate bill and the administration's wishes were the wishes of the American people. He was told what the senate passed ran contrary to the wishes of the American people by more than a 2 to 1 margin, amnesty was not in the American people's vocabulary and the preponderence of emails proved that. He wasn't smiling as much as he usually does. This once again illustrates the total disconnect between the administration and the American people and the futility of integrating a 21st century political, economic, technological and military superpower with a third world economy where the majority of the population has an IQ no higher than the fruits and vegetables they pick and their main industries are agriculture and procreation. This truly is a recipe for disaster.

These type of stories are becoming more and more frequent. Almost a daily thing.
And these damn Mexicans are becoming more brazen every day.
Just a couple of days ago on a construction site where I work, I was sitting in my truck in front of the building that is under construction. An assisted living facility in Jupiter, Fl.
The funny thing about this job is that it is a H.U.D. financed project. I would estimate that 30%-40% of the construction workers are Mexican. Don't know their legal status since that is a taboo subject that the developer won't discuss.
I was sitting in my truck in the grass area between the street and the sidewalk in front of the building. Waiting for the owner to arrive for a meeting. There were 5 or 6 Mexican painters working in front of the building. I was just sitting there, listening to the Rush Limbaugh show on the radio when I heard alot of hooting and howling from the Mexican painters.
When I looked up I saw a white girl, walking down the sidewalk toward my truck. Maybe 19-20 years old. Very cute looking girl, wearing shorts and carring a shopping bag. As she approached the area where I was parked, I noticed one of these stupid Mexican painters run to the sidewalk about 20 yards behind the girl. He's walking down the sidewalk behind the girl and grabbing his crotch as his buddies where howling like idiots.
The girl paid no attention and kept walking. As she walked past my truck, the Mexican noticed me sitting there watching him. He turned around and went back to work.
I doubt that the dumbass Mexican was trying to do anything but impress his buddies, but damn, I had a strong urge to kick that idiot in the ass.

a friend of mine was telling me last night that these illegals and/or Mexicans were NOT doing construction for the federal government, only private companies -- to each his own

Sandra Adams, the Metairie woman who was abducted May 22 from Lafreniere Park, died of injuries from being hit by a vehicle, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee said Wednesday as authorities continued seeking her killer.

Adams' nude body was found May 23 face-down on a gravel construction road near David and Lynnette drives, about a half-mile from the park. Officials have said she had been sexually assaulted.

"The coroner's office determined that she died of blunt force trauma from an automobile," Lee said. He said it's unclear when the molestation took place.

Edmundo Cerda-Anima, the suspect in Adams' death and the subject of a nationwide alert, has told friends that he might have hit someone the night of Adams' disappearance while he was intoxicated and driving his white Ford Expedition, his former boss said. But he has denied raping anyone or moving a body.

Cerda-Anima, 25, is a carpenter from Wichita, Kan., and had been living in Metairie for several months while repairing Katrina-damaged houses. His Expedition was seized May 23 from an apartment building where he had been staying with other construction workers. Authorities believe he fled the area earlier that day in his boss's blue 1993 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Investigators have disclosed that some of Adams' clothing was found in a parking lot in front of Shelter No. 8 in Lafreniere Park, along with some evidence linking Cerda-Anima's Expedition to the scene. On Wednesday, Lee said there also was evidence linking Adams to the inside of Cerda-Anima's vehicle, but he did not say what.

Investigators identified Cerda-Anima as a suspect after several witnesses described seeing a white Ford Expedition at the park and in the area where Adams' body was found. Some witnesses saw a white SUV with a flat rear tire on the driver's side leaving that area around the time that Adams was reported missing in the park.

A deputy later found such a vehicle, with the flat tire, in the 500 block of Eisenhower Avenue in Metairie. It was registered to Cerda-Anima.

Authorities hope to get leads on Cerda-Anima's whereabouts on Saturday, when Adams' death will be featured on the "America's Most Wanted" television program, along with a profile of the suspect, Lee said.

Adams' relatives hope the show will lead to his capture. Daughter Alessa Massey, 27, said she still feels as if she's in a state of shock. But she is determined to see the culprit caught.

"I've got to find him," she said. "What if he did this to somebody else?"

Sandra Adams disappeared during an nighttime walk in the park.

A dark cloud of shock and fear hangs over the community of Metairie, Louisiana - just outside of New Orleans - after learning that a woman was abducted from a popular park in the area and later found murdered.

Lafreniere Park is a beautifully landscaped 155-acre park nestled in the middle of suburban Metairie. Residents flock there since the area is known for its wildlife, picturesque lagoons, children's playgrounds, athletic fields, picnic areas, and a two-mile jogging path.

On the evening of May 22, 2006, 51-year-old Alessandra Adams, known as Sandra, drove to Lafreniere Park with her 21-year-old son and one of his friends. They arrived at the park around 9:00 p.m. for some nighttime exercise on the jogging path. Sandra walked the course, while her son and his friend jogged it. Sandra's son planned on meeting up with his mother once he and his friend finished running the trail.

Around 9:45 p.m., Sandra's son began calling his mother's cell phone to find to arrange a place to meet. She never answered the phone. Sandra's son contacted park rangers to help him search for his mother. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office was also called in to assist in finding Sandra. Deputies searched the park throughout the night, but there was no sign of Sandra anywhere.

Grisly Discovery

Around 6:00 a.m. the next morning, the police were called to a gravel construction road less than a mile from the park. When officers arrived, Sandra's case was reclassified from missing to homicide. Her llifeless body was found lying face-down in the gravel. She was nude and an autopsy revealed that Sandra had been sexually assaulted. Coroner's determined that she died of blunt force trauma from an automobile.

The question for investigators... who killed Sandra Adams?

Detectives scoured the area interviewing potential witnesses and received a huge break in the case. Based on information from a witness and evidence at the scene, police began searching for a white full-size SUV, possibly with a flat tire, as a suspect vehicle. The vehicle was seen in the area where they found Sandra's body and at the park. Another witness reported a more-detailed description of the vehicle -- a late 90's Ford Expedition.

Deputies found a white Ford Expedition matching the description of the suspect vehicle parked at a nearby apartment complex. Police learned that the owner of the vehicle was a man named Edmundo Cerda-Anima.

A Killer on the Loose

Edmundo Cerda-Anima is wanted for murdering Sandra Adams.

When investigators tried to interview Cerda-Anima, they learned that he had already fled the area to Wichita, Kansas. Investigators learned that Cerda-Anima was a carpenter from Wichita. He came to the area at least several months earlier to work on homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Police say he was living at the apartment complex with co-workers.

Detectives say they have evidence that connects Cerda-Anima to the vehicle, the park, and the parking lot where Sandra was found.

Cerda-Anima's boss told detectives that on the day Sandra's body was discovered, Cerda-Anima asked to borrow his truck to go to Wichita for a couple of weeks. His boss agreed and he hasn't seen Cerda-Anima since. Cerda-Anima may still be driving his boss's blue 1993 Ford F-150 pickup truck and an alert has been sent to police in Wichita.

A warrant has been issued for Edmundo Cerda-Anima's arrest. He is charged with first degree murder in the death of Sandra Adams.

Many people in the Metairie community are mourning Sandra's death. She was very well known and described as a caring mother, grandmother and friend. Sandra was co-founder and former vice president of the French Quarter Business Association and owned the Bourbon French Parfum Company for many years. Sandra's family is hoping that the public can help track down Edmundo Cerda-Anima.
