E-Verify Bill Eased on the Way to Senate Floor

Thursday, May 19th, 2011, by Joe White

A measure meant to ensure that Tennessee companies don’t hire illegal aliens has been softened to make it easier for employers to comply.

Originally, the proposed law would have required all hires to be vetted through the on-line federal “E-Verifyâ€
    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

Tennessee Chamber of Commerce President Bradley Jackson
    I'm confused.

I don't understand why E-Verify would be hard on small employers so I was going to cal Mr. Bradley Jackson tomorrow and ask him.

I can't seem to find Mr Jackson as the President in their directory?

I'm thinking that since my pc is old and homemade it can't be right.

Maybe someone with a brand new shiny store bought computer can find him as the President?

I don't understand why it would be more difficult either. I'll admit I don't know the details of how the program works, but I always assumed the only requirement was an internet connection. Perhaps some folks employing five or less people don't have computers. I know that's hard to believe in this day and age, but maybe that is the justification their using.

You go Tennessee!! Go! Go! Go! It's a start, you'll love it, you'll soon want all employers covered by e-verify, and then you'll want more, you'll want an AZ immigration law. And the reason is, people think erroneously that all illegal aliens came here to work. But some of us know that they didn't all come here to work and not everyone in their family works or wants to or even can.
