    December 2, 2015 – Former President of Guinea pleads guilty to bulk cash smuggling, making false statements


    The former president of Guinea in West Africa and current general commander of the Security Forces of the African Union, pled guilty to bulk cash smuggling and making false statements. This case was investigated by ICE’s HSI. Full Story

    December 1, 2015 – Southeast Texas man pleads guilty to possessing child pornography


    A southeast Texas man pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Kenneth Magidson, Southern District of Texas. Full Story

    December 2, 2015 – Secret Service officer charged federally for child pornography


    A federal grand jury in Wilmington indicted a resident of Church Hill, Maryland, on one count of attempting to transfer obscene materials to a minor after a joint investigation by ICE HSI and Delaware Child Predator Task Force. Full Story

    December 3, 2015 – Man charged with secretly recording children in park, other child porn activities


    A man who is suspected of recording kids changing their clothes in Dorney Park in Allentown was charged in federal court for producing, distributing and possessing child pornography after a joint investigation by ICE HSI and Abington Township. Full Story

    Chicago psychiatrist and counselor indicted for citizenship fraud
    According to an indictment returned last month in U.S. District Court in Chicago, Dr. Marek Walczyk and Katarzyna Fergemann fraudulently declared U.S. citizenship applicants as suffering from a physical or mental impairment that purportedly rendered them unable to demonstrate the required knowledge of U.S. history and the English language.

    Brazilian national sentenced in Massachusetts for bank fraud
    Reinaldo Oliveira, 33, recently residing in Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced to 15 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $66,985 in restitution.

    Man charged with secretly recording children in park, other child porn activities
    Kurt Eichert, 51, of Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, was charged today by indictment with one count of production of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography.

    Andrew Berko, 45, has been in custody since his arrest in April on a related federal criminal complaint.

    Secret Service officer charged federally for child pornography
    Lee Robert Moore, 37, was employed by the U.S. Secret Service-Uniformed Division and was assigned to the White House at the time of his arrest, Nov. 9, 2015, and has remained in custody since that time.

    Philadelphia store owner gets 3 years in prison for food stamp fraud
    Saud Saleh, 30, owned and operated Twinz Meat Market, a retail grocery store, now defunct, that was located at 3083 Kensington Ave. in Philadelphia. At his guilty plea hearing, the defendant admitted that he knowingly trafficked in U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the food stamp program.

    Missouri man convicted of drug trafficking, illegally possessing firearms
    Marcus McIntosh, 59, was found guilty of the charges contained in an Aug. 26, 2014 federal indictment, which identified his role in a conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine between April 1 and Aug. 8, 2014.

    Southeast Texas man pleads guilty to possessing child pornography
    Robert Wayne Collins, 62, of Kingsville, Texas, pleaded guilty Dec. 1 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Janice B. Ellington. The court heard that authorities, while using peer-to-peer file-sharing software, were able to successfully download various files containing child pornography from an Internet Protocol address that was associated with Collins.

    Denver-area car dealership owner sentenced to 4 years in federal prison for structuring and money laundering
    Raul Mendoza, 51, of Denver, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge R. Brooke Jackson Nov. 20. Judge Jackson also ordered the forfeiture of 19 vehicles and currency in the amount of $5,277.16. Mendoza owned Chopeque Auto Sales in Commerce City, and used the dealership to launder drug proceeds.

    Southeast Texas man sentenced to 6 years in prison for possessing child pornography
    Sean Patrick Mciver, 28, was sentenced to 72 months in prison by Senior U.S. District Judge John D. Rainey. McIver was further ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release after he completes his prison term, during which time he will have to comply with numerous requirements designed to restrict his access to children and the Internet. He will also be ordered to register as a sex offender. Mciver pleaded guilty to the charges Aug. 3.

    Kansas man sentenced to 6½ years in federal prison for possessing 16,000 images of child pornography
    James E. McGary, 43, of Garden City, Kansas, previously pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography. In his plea, he admitted that in October 2012 his computer was identified by law enforcement as sharing child pornography on a file-sharing network.

    Missouri man sentenced in North Dakota for possessing child pornography
    Billy Wynn Jr., 32, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was also sentenced by U. S. District Judge Ralph R. Erickson to serve 20 years of supervised release and to pay a $200 special assessment to the Crime Victims’ Fund.

    2 sentenced to lengthy federal prison sentences for roles in North Texas methamphetamine distribution conspiracy
    U.S. District Judge Reed C. O’Connor sentenced Andres Silva, 36, to 210 months and Melissa Slade, 40, to 240 months in federal prison. Each pleaded guilty in July to one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.

    Minnesota man sentenced to 23½ years for sex trafficking across state lines
    Rahmad Lashad Geddes, aka “Face,” aka “Poo Poo,” 36, from Blaine, Minnesota, was sentenced to 282 months in federal prison after being convicted of the following charges: on one count of sex trafficking, one count of transportation with intent to engage in prostitution, and one count of being a career criminal in possession of a firearm.

    North Dakota man sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography
    Christopher Halligan, 47, of Emerado, North Dakota, was sentenced to 96 months in federal prison based on his conviction on one count of receiving and three counts of possessing child pornography. Emerado is a small town near the Grand Forks Air Force Base.

    Salvadoran wanted on murder charges removed by ICE
    According to Salvadoran police reports, on Dec. 24, 2004, Rafael Antonio Vaquerano was drinking with the victim when an argument ensued. Vaquerano took out his weapon and fired one shot hitting the victim in the abdomen. The victim subsequently passed away.

    Su Qin Yang, 45, who resided in Rosemead prior to fleeing to China in 2012, pleaded guilty in May to one count of trafficking in counterfeit goods and admitted in her plea agreement that she trafficked in almost four million counterfeit Marlboro cigarettes and almost 4,000 counterfeit Viagra pills.

    Bradley Bender, Southampton Town Councilman, pleaded guilty today to conspiring to illegally distribute oxycodone. The plea was entered before U.S. Magistrate Judge Anne Y. Shields at the federal courthouse in Central Islip.
