CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two illegal immigrants tried to get into restricted employee-only areas at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport late last month, according to federal criminal complaints.

The men would have gained access to baggage, the tarmac and even planes.

The documents state when Liborio Flores and Miguel Rodriguez got to security, however, officers immediately knew something wasn’t right.

Airport officials said their social security cards looked fake, so the two men were detained.

The documents show the men told officers they were born and raised in Monroe, but when border protection agents got to the airport it was revealed both men were in the country illegally.

Airport officials said the two Mexican nationals didn't appear to have any sinister intentions. They were employed by a local roofing company that was doing some work at the airport.

Authorities said both men have been caught being in the country illegally before and will likely be deported.

Airport officials said they do not have the name of the local roofing company that employed the illegal immigrants.

Security measures to gain employee access at the airport include everything from fingerprinting to criminal background checks.

You people in NC need to raise Holy heck on this one. OF COURSE they have the name of the contractor that was doing the work. Security at important infrastructure such as airports, ports, transportation congestion points, are all carefully monitored. Most contractors would have to be pre-screened to gain access to work on-site. The airport just doesn't want to name the company to do CYA (my hunch). I'd also be willing to wager the company that was awarded the contact, has an 8(a)/Minority-Owned, Disadvantaged Small Business designation as well. You should be mad, for sure, in any case.

Time to start putting heavy jail time in front of deportations. With all the
security passengers go thru at the airport this has got to stop. The roofing contractor should get a visit from ICE, the IRS, and the state.

Send a message to Mexico, deport once shame on us, deport twice and
you do after a long visit to the slammer. No exceptions!

    Deported?

Let me see: two illegal aliens who have been caught here before, possessed fake documents, and tried to access the secure area of an airport. Can anyone find the number of crimes these men committed?

If we, as American citizens, tried to access the secure area of an airport......with sinister intentions or no.......is there someplace we'd be deported to for our "infraction" other than to the nearest federal prison?

No Surprise, no criminal charges. An American would be in Gitmo for "accidentally" trying to access a Restricted area.

Why don't companies working in restricted employee-only areas have to under go security checks prior to being hired?

Shouldn't the company who hired these men be charged with endangering national security and hiring illegal aliens?

My son when he was 8 was pulled into a room and interrogated because he had mettle around his shoe lace holes, yet illegals can just waltz right in. I feel safe, don't you?
