Girl rescued with help of Amber Alert

AP fileOn Feb. 13, a Tennessee State Trooper pulled over a pickup truck driven by Elmer Zelaya, who told the officer that the little girl with him was his daughter. However, during the traffic stop, the trooper received an Amber Alert with the girl’s picture, as she had been abducted from her home in Maryland about 20 hours earlier.

Zelaya, 41, was placed under arrest and the 11-year-old girl was taken to Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

According to the FBI report, the girl told child welfare case workers that Zelaya had sex with her three times in his truck, after taking her from her home in the middle of the night. Apparently, Zelaya had been calling the girl for a year before kidnapping her.

She also said that Zelaya talked to her about getting married, once they arrived in El Salvador, his intended destination.

The girl told investigators that the two spoke about “what they wanted to do when they grew up and about how they loved each other.â€

"Deborah Schurman-Kauflin of the Violent Crimes Institute determined that there are no less than 240,000 illegal alien sex offenders currently inside the U.S."
