Obama backs senators immigration overhaul outline

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is backing an immigration bill outline drafted by two senators that says illegal immigrants must admit they broke the law to become citizens.

Obama says in a statement that the outline of a bill Sen. Chuck Schumer and Sen. Lindsey Graham are crafting addresses border security and demands accountability from illegal immigrants and employers who hire them.

He says the critical next step is to translate their outline into legislation.

Obama's statement comes just four days before tens of thousands of immigrants and their supporters plan to rally in Washington to press the administration and Congress to pass immigration reform.

Here's my line of thinking. If we all break a law, admit it, then we become eligible for free health care, thereby making Obamacare moot.

Its not too far off base.

Think about it, damn near all in the new administration have openly admitted that they don't pay their taxes and broke the law and what do they get?

They get to keep their money, job, benefits and continue to tell us what to do and how to live.

So by rewarding lawbreakers is the new status quo. and recent actions reflect it.

Obama endorses immigration blueprint

President Obama on Thursday gave a thumbs-up to the framework of a plan to legalize illegal immigrants and create a flow of low-skilled foreign workers for the future, saying the bill being worked on by a Republican lawmaker and his Democrat counterpart is "promising."

The long-awaited framework, written by Sens. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, and Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, calls for illegal immigrants to be put on a path to citizenship and would create a temporary program for future foreign workers. Maybe most contentious of all, it would turn all Social Security cards into tamper-proof IDs to be checked by employers when they are about to hire a new worker. The cards would include biometric information designed to prevent counterfeiting — but the senators said the information would not be stored in a government database.

"I congratulate Senators Schumer and Graham for their leadership, and pledge to do everything in my power to forge a bipartisan consensus this year on this important issue so we can continue to move forward on comprehensive immigration reform," Mr. Obama said in a statement soon after the two senators published their framework on The Washington Post's Web site.

The senators said their legalization approach would be a "tough but fair" program that would require illegal immigrants to admit they broke the law and make them perform community service and pay a fine.

Illegal immigrants would also have to demonstrate they are proficient at English and pass background checks to gain citizenship.

The same old pro-amnesty talking points, with mass amnesty deceptively packaged around tough-sounding but hollow words and phrases like "accountability" and "proficient at English."

Looks like this was released today to buy Gutierrez's and the CHC's votes for Obamacare.

The American people are not fooled by this, and it's obvious that Rep. Joe Wilson had a valid point.

The current immigration system is not broken as the politicians and illegal aliens say. The current immigration system is just fine. The illegal immigration situation is created by the same illegal aliens. They come here without visas or come with visas and overstay. That is the problem. The United States does not create that problem. So, the only solution here is to enforce current immigration laws. We do not need new laws. The march on the Mall on March 21, 2010 must to be allowed. Where in the world governments allow illegal aliens protest to get permanent residency? This is the only country in the world. And that is not acceptable. We must never allow illegal aliens to protest in our streets. Just enforce current immigration laws. And this November let's remove from office politicians (Democrats and Republicans) who help illegal aliens. Politicians must not listen to illegal aliens. Politicians have to listen just to the American people. I do not support amnesty.

Apparently the promise of an amnesty is a reward to the Hispanic Caucus for voting in favor of the corrupt healthcare bill. Yes = amnesty.
