RALEIGH, NC (WECT) - The Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee (ALIPAC) will not endorse a candidate in the general election for NC Congressional District 7.
David Rouzer defeated Ilario Pantano in the Republican primary last week. Pantano was ALIPAC's choice and the committee actively campaigned for him in the primary.

Responding to an inquiry from WECT.com, ALIPAC President and Spokesman William Gheen said this year's election has been rigged to favor the Republican Rouzer over Pantano and now Democratic candidate and incumbent Mike McIntyre. Gheen said computer animation software was used to redesign the district in Rouzer's favor during the General Assembly's redistricting process.

"This new technology is so powerful that Rouzer's friends have run simulations using data collected from election results over the past 3 decades. I'm afraid that the fix is in for NC District 7. The new district 7 was designed to defeat McIntyre and Pantano and to elect David Rouzer due to the influence of his associates in the NC Senate. Endorsements from any national organization, including ours, are unlikely to change the outcome due to the unscrupulous design of the district," William Gheen wrote.

Gheen said Rouzer is "ineligible" for ALIPAC's endorsement because he lobbied for federal legislation that would have provided amnesty for illegals.

However, prior to Pantano's run in 2010 against incumbent Mike McIntyre, the PAC endorsed McIntyre. Gheen says that endorsement was pulled in 2010 in an effort to "punish the Democratic leadership."

Gheen won't go so far as endorsing McIntyre in this year's general election, but did offer this remark.

"We do not have plans to make an endorsement at this time. Yet, we commend Congressman Mike McIntyre for his past opposition to amnesty and we ask David Rouzer to consider abandoning his support for agjobs amnesty for illegal immigrants," Gheen wrote.

You can read Gheen's full statement on the situation below in italics:

"David Rouzer's support for Amnesty for illegal immigrants makes him ineligible for our endorsement. We only endorse candidates that support the enforcement of our existing immigration laws instead of any form of Amnesty.

Congressman Mike McIntyre had our endorsement for his opposition to amnesty, but we withdrew it in 2010 to punish the Democratic leadership in Washington for pushing amnesty for illegal aliens.

Now unfortunately the outcome of the November elections in NC's district 7 have already been determined by the computer simulation software that was used to carve district 7 specifically to elect illegal alien amnesty supporter David Rouzer. NC Senator Rouzer's friends in the NC Senate like Senator Phil Berger and redistricting chair Senator Bob Rucho, worked with National Council of La Raza leader and Democratic party official Matty Lazo-Chadderton to create a new congressional district that would please Obama's Justice Department.

I know from my years of campaign consulting experience and direct work with the NC legislature, including my past service as a sgt at arms on the redistricting committee in s1998 that the new district 7 has been designed to defeat both Ilario Pantano and Mike McIntyre.
