UT's S.B. 251 requires employers to verify status

Utah's New immigration law goes into effect Jul 1, 2010 and bleeding hearts, talk show host (Dough Wright) and others behind churches and pro-illegal groups are up in arms with bleeding heart stories, disputing statistics, criticizing e-Verify's effectiveness, implying that enforcing the law is cruel and that the current laws in the books are archaic and need revising. I suspect that they will try to make Mormons feel guilty about wanting to have immigration laws enforced and implying that going by their own core beliefs of sustaining the law of the land is somewhat "UN-Christian"

Yet, look at the opinion of most Utahns:

"Questions raised about Utah's new immigration law
Utah's newest immigration law doesn't officially go on the books until Thursday, and already it's receiving reviews that are tepid at best from both sides of the immigration debate. S.B. 251 requires employers to verify the immigration status of new hires."

The majority of Utahns want illegals gone but there are groups of bleeding hearts who want to say that any law that punishes illegals is unfair and inhumane.

Our opposition knows this is true and will pull any and all dirty tricks to prevent a law be enforced that provides statistical evidence.

Utah has been illegals' the best kept secret for years because

    1. There is no immigration enforcement against the garden variety illegal even after a law was passed to check for status. Most police refused to act as immigration officers on SB81.

    2. SOME religious people in Utah think they're going against God if they enforce immigration laws.

    3. The Mormon Church asked everyone to be compassionate and since they know the federal government won't do anything about illegal immigration anyway, they keep saying it's a federal problem. In other words, don't come up with any state laws against illegal immigration, just let the government handle it.

    3. I suspect that many Utah businesses use illegal aliens. Chambers of commerce and manufacturers associations have pro-illegals tendencies.

    4. Churches scream bloody murder if there is any effort to curb illegal immigration.

    5. Pro-Illegal spokespersons get media attention all the time while anti-illegal immigration advocates as often portrayed as racists or un-Christian.

However, Utahns are smart and they are not being fooled by these stupid tactics. They can see though the crap and what's going on. While I think Utahns in general tend to welcome LEGAL immigration, I think the majority don't want Utah to become like Arizona or California.

Obviously, those with ties to Mexico via Mormon missions or business are not so quick to go against illegal immigration but that's to be expected.

Utah's media rarely portrays the real problems associated with illegal immigration. It downplays it. Mormon owned media usually tips the scale towards compassion or some sort of greater tolerance towards illegals.

Over 20,000 social security numbers have been stolen, including those belonging to children.

Illegals in Utah roam about without any fear of being detained unless they commit serious crimes against property or person. Notice I said serious crimes.

See for yourself and notice how the media calls them "immigrants" and not "illegal immigrants"

Fed up with the gangs, the violence, fraud, and all the negative reality that sanctuary for illegal aliens provides,of course the economic impact.
    Compassion fades when confronting evil.
The lawless will retreat when laws are enforced.
Rational thought for the security of Friends and family out way thought of forgiveness of criminals.
I have Faith the third world has seen its best days here.
The return of sovereignty will be blessed for our states and our nation.
