Pickens thinks we need to ‘vet’ Muslims

Oil billionaire T. Boone Pickens on Wednesday repeated his support for Donald Trump and backed the Republican presidential candidate’s call to ban Muslim immigrants from entering the U.S.

In a panel discussion at the Skybridge Alternatives hedge-fund, or SALT, conference in Las Vegas, Pickens said he would “cut off the Muslims entering the United States” until authorities can properly “vet these people.”

The 87-year old wildcatter and sometimes renewables investor expressed discontent with Washington politics—the same sentiment that has helped real estate tycoon Trump to become the presumptive Republican nominee.

“I like his immigration policy,” Pickens said about Trump at SALT. “I didn’t say it’s permanent. But I’d cut off the Muslims coming into the United States until we can vet these people.”
