ST. PAUL, MN – On Monday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents deported Jose Orlando Vasquez-Guillen, 20, back to his home country of El Salvador.
In December 2019, the illegal alien was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide in the April 2019 death of 52-year-old Mark O’Gara. At the time of his arrest. Vasquez-Guillen had a blood alcohol content of .149.
The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office released a statement on Tuesday afternoon following his deportation:
Given that he had served over a year in Ramsey County custody, he was returned to ICE custody and they chose to deport him. The victim’s family was supportive of the plea agreement after we met and discussed all of the evidence. The plea agreement terms are in line with the guidelines.
Fox News 9 reported:
Vasquez-Guillen, a citizen of El Salvador, entered the country illegally as an unaccompanied minor in January 2016. In August of that year, a federal immigration judge ordered him to be deported after he failed to appear for his immigration hearing.
