Otter: Idaho Backs Arizona In Immigration Lawsuit

Otter: Idaho backs Arizona in immigration lawsuit
    - The Associated Press
    Published: 09/03/10

BOISE, Idaho — Idaho is backing Arizona's law meant to curb illegal immigration.

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter said Friday he's filed a court brief backing Arizona's appeal with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Otter says states should be able to concurrently enforce federal immigration laws, provided they don't create new categories of aliens.

Arizona's law would generally require officers enforcing other measures to check immigration status of people they suspect are illegal immigrants.

There are several lawsuits challenging the measure, including cases filed by the U.S. Justice of Department and civil rights groups.

In July, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton put key parts of Arizona's law on hold.

Idaho says it is now among 11 states that have joined in an appeal of Bolton's ruling filed by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.

Labrador supports Otter's position on Arizona immigration law
    September 5th, 2010 5:08 pm MT.

Republican Congressional Candidate, Raul Labrador, said Saturday September 4 that he supports Governor Butch Otter and Attorney General Lawrence Wasden in their decision to sign-on as a 'friend of the court' in Arizona's appeal over a law they enacted to fight illegal immigration. Idaho has joined ten other states which have filed briefs in the 9th District Court of Appeals to assist Arizona in getting a federal judge's decision that struck down most of the immigration law, overturned.

About his decision to support Otter and Wasden, Labrador said, "I am in complete agreement with Governor Otter and Attorney General Wasden...we have a growing problem of illegal immigration in the country that Congress and President Obama cannot continue to ignore. The solution to this problem is not filing suit against states that attempt to enforce existing federal laws...and the solution is not amnesty."

He said that when elected to Congress he will push for enhanced border security through barriers, technology and the deployment of troops. He said the Democrat incumbent Congressman Walt Minnick's solution is amnesty.

"It is a travesty the Obama Administration is spending money fighting Arizona in court when it should be spending money to fight illegal immigration," He concluded.

Labraor is a liar! He has made his living here in Idaho as an immigration attorney defending illegal aliens. He fights to get the courts to let them stay here regardless of the crimes they have committed. For instance, Labrador represented an illegal alien admitted human smuggler, who after serving his time in an Idaho prison was fighting deportation. Labrador fought for this criminal in appeals court even though he knew this illegal alien was wanted for murder in his own country. To say Labrodor is against amnesty is a joke! Minnick has a better grading on NumbersUSA.
