Morgan Brittany cites testimony of Border Patrol leader about new policy

Apparently, there are no laws that apply to illegal aliens crossing the borders into our country. There is actually no need to even have a Border Patrol anymore because under the Obama administration it has become unnecessary, except as a welcoming committee to thousands crossing the border.

You know how it is when you drive across different states and see the “Welcome to …” sign and then stop at a small office to pick up information? That is precisely what the Border Patrol has been reduced to because their agents certainly can’t do the job that they were hired and trained to do.

Last Thursday, Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Congress that the Obama administration has reinstated the “catch-and- release” program that orders agents not to bother arresting and deporting new illegal immigrants. He told Congress that evidently Homeland Security was so embarrassed by the amount of illegal aliens not showing up to their deportation hearings that instead of going after them they were ordered not to arrest them in the first place, so then they wouldn’t need to show up in court! This is utter madness.

Not only that, but under Obama’s “priorities” program, the only illegals the Border Patrol should even consider looking at twice are possible criminals, national security risks or people who came in after Jan. 1, 2014. There is no way of knowing who fits this category since anyone can claim that they came in before January 2014 without any proof, and they will be released immediately without any questions. Mr. Judd testified to the House Judiciary Committee’s immigration subcommittee that, “Immigration laws today appear to be mere suggestions.”

Obama has continually pushed for illegals to be granted citizenship rights, but since Congress has been dragging its feet, he has taken it into his own hands and made up his own rules and laws to keep them from being deported. He says one thing, but then ties the hands of the authorities to carry it out. For instance, he wants them to focus on criminals and new immigrants; but because the new immigrants understand that all they need to do is just say that they have been in the U.S. since 2013, they don’t have to worry. They don’t need to prove anything – no documentation, nothing. Their word is good enough for Obama.

Mr. Judd also testified to the fact that the surge of illegal women and children flooding the southern border has so overwhelmed the agency that the agents are distracted and preoccupied with the safety and well-being of the massive numbers of people. Criminal cartels are realizing this and using the opportunity to flood the borders with families and children to take the focus off of the drug smuggling that can’t be halted by overworked agents.

Agents are now not even allowed to ask families or children why they want to come to the U.S. because “their uniforms frightened the children” and their answers were not to be trusted because they were afraid. This is totally out of control.

Once these individuals have been released into the general community, they are not allowed to be tracked. “Not only do we release these individuals that by law are subject to removal proceedings, we do it without any means of tracking their whereabouts. In essence, we pull these people out of the shadows into the light just to release them right back to those same shadows from whence they came.” Judd said. “There are little or no consequences for breaking the laws, and that fact is well-known in other countries. If government agencies like DHS or CBP are allowed to bypass Congress by legislating through policy, we might as well abolish our immigration laws altogether.”

In recent news reports, investigative reporters have uncovered secret leaked documents showing that there has recently been a spike in people from terrorist countries illegally crossing our borders. This seems to be of little or no concern to an Obama administration that continues to invite un-vetted refugees from Syria and other places and allows them to settle in our cities and towns.

The spin on illegal immigration coming out of this administration is mind-boggling. They feed the gullible American public a complete lie, and they twist it and spin it so that it sounds true. For example, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson recently touted the low numbers of illegals being apprehended and detained at the southern border. He boasted that the levels were much less than they had been. Gee, I wonder why? He carefully neglected to mention the change in policy about which Brandon Judd testified.

If this continues the way it is heading, then we are opening ourselves up to more criminal activity than we can imagine, terrorist attacks and an enormous drain on our economy, not to mention the annihilation of our American culture and values.

And people wonder why Donald Trump is leading in the polls?
