2 Africans arrested on drug, weapons charges
The Reading residents, who authorities say are illegal aliens, will be deported to Gambia after the case has been resolved, the district attorney says.

Berks County, PA - Two African illegal aliens were arrested after police confiscated marijuana, a loaded pistol and a bulletproof vest from their Reading home, Berks County detectives said.

District Attorney Mark C. Baldwin said Lulu Forster, 24, and Saloum Dabo, 26, both of Gambia, will be deported after the case has been completed.

The two were arraigned in Reading Central Court before District Justice Michael J. Leonardziak on charges of delivering 3 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $3,000, and obliterating a serial number on a .45-caliber handgun.

According to police:

County detectives bought marijuana from the pair three times: $900 worth June 23, $750 worth July 10 and $1,200 worth Aug. 9.


On Friday, detectives seized 60 grams of marijuana, a .45-caliber pistol and the bulletproof vest from Forster’s residence.

Forster of the 1600 block of Cotton Street is in the county jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Dabo of the 300 block of South 11th Street is in the county jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

County detectives and the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted the three-month investigation.
