    Illegal immigrants

One area that has been bubbling under the surface in the state Legislature could heat up this fall, according to Rafferty. Both the House and Senate are expected to take up measures to deal with the growing illegal immigrant population in Pennsylvania.

Rafferty has two bills pending that would penalize employers who hire illegal immigrants. Republicans have also complained that Pennsylvania has done a poor job of policing its welfare rolls, allowing illegal immigrants to collect benefits.

Senate Majority Leader Joe Scarnati, R-25th Dist., said in a recent television interview that Pennsylvania hands out $285 million a year in welfare benefits to illegal aliens.

Just one state...just image the total cost to all the 50 states...no wonder Mexico and others are dumping their poor people and do not want these people back home...

So, why aren't the taxpayers of PA up in arms about this?

Perhaps they aren't aware? I sometimes wonder if local papers ever print this type of information, probably not.

Maybe this is how some are able to drive 2 Honda Accords with income from a McDonald's job. At least that's what my ex-neighbors drove.....one man (who didn't work) and a woman, sometimes two, working at Mickey D's.

    PA GOVERNOR SPEAKS:

Ed Rendell Denounces America's Existence on Behalf of Illegal Aliens
While castigating Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta's praiseworthy attempts to protect his citizens from the threats posed by runaway illegal immigration, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell let his rhetoric get away from him yesterday — revealing himself as a moonbat of the first order.

Referring to attempts to enforce immigration laws, Rendell bellowed:

A lot of this is being pushed by politicians who... feed off hate and divisiveness.

Yes, anyone who doesn't want our country balkanized by an ethnic group that is flooding into our country illegally at rates that put assimilation out of the question must be feeding off "divisiveness." To prove Rendell doesn't belong to this club, he decried efforts to maintain English as America's de facto official language.

He went further. In an apparent effort to appeal to the ever more influential lunatic wing of the Democratic Party, Rendell plunged off a cliff into sheer moonbattery:

The only ones I want to hear speaking up and complaining about immigration are the Native Americans who we screwed.
According to this stale loony-left theme, America is an illegitimate nation because most of us have ancestors who were born somewhere else. In fact, all of us do — including Indians. Maybe every last human on the hemisphere should pack up and head off to the other side of the world, leaving the Americas to the spotted owls and sucker fish. You first, Ed.

    IN THE LEGISLATURE:

In the House, HR 750 - Summary: AN ACT Prohibiting employment of illegal aliens; requiring participation in the Basic Pilot Program as a condition for Commonwealth contracts or grants; prohibiting business tax deductions for certain compensation; requiring suspension of licenses, registrations and; certificates of incorporation under certain circumstances; and authorizing a private cause of action.

HR 751 - Summary: AN ACT Providing for a memorandum of understanding between the Commonwealth and the United States Department of Justice or Department of Homeland Security.

HR 752 - Summary: AN ACT Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for definitions; providing for mandatory determination of citizenship and immigration status; and further providing for use of records by licensing agencies and; for use of records for employment.

HR 753 - Summary: AN ACT Prohibiting certain licensees from knowingly employing illegal aliens; and imposing sanctions.

HR 754 - Summary: AN ACT Requiring verification of the lawful presence in the United States of any natural person 18 years of age or older who has applied for public benefits.

In the Senate, S 979 - Summary: AN ACT Prohibiting employment of illegal aliens; requiring participation in the Basic Pilot Program as a condition for Commonwealth contracts or grants; prohibiting business tax deductions for certain compensation; requiring suspension of licenses, registrations and; certificates of incorporation under certain circumstances; and authorizing a private cause of action.

These bills were all introduced in early April and have been languishing in committees ever since.

DEMOCRATS ARE THE ONES STALLING THESE BILLS. SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW??????????
