PA-Opinion :The illegals crackdown: Obama as Bush

The illegals crackdown: Obama as Bush
    Monday, August 10, 2009

Immigration enforcement increasingly is a rare bright spot for the Obama administration, suggesting Barack Obama indeed understands what "illegal" means.

His tough stance largely continues Bush administration programs, with some changes in emphasis.

This administration relies less on workplace raids to round up illegal aliens en masse but focuses more on employers who exploit them. More than 600 businesses' hiring documents are being audited.

The E-Verify program, which quickly checks applicants' job eligibility, and the 287(g) program, which encourages cooperation between federal immigration agents and state and local police, are expanding.

More jail inmates at the local level are undergoing immigration checks. More illegal-alien gang members and convicts are being targeted. And this April, federal courts had 32 percent more immigration-violation cases than they did a year earlier.

Judgment on the administration's planned overhaul of immigration law must await a bill to be drafted later this year by New York Democrat Charles Schumer, chairman of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on immigration.

But the steps taken so far are encouraging. On this issue, the president is putting common sense and American workers' interests ahead of the political calculus that put him in the White House.

Is this editorial some kind of joke? Obama has gutted immigration enforcement efforts and made them even worse than they were under Bush!

That article is a crock. Bottom line is, Obama is for open boarders and amnesty.

"Judgment on the administration's planned overhaul of immigration law must await a bill to be drafted later this year by New York Democrat Charles Schumer, chairman of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on immigration."

Sen Charles ("our borders are secure") Schumer is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I continue to mail his office official stories of the horrible things taking place within our country, perpetrated by illegal aliens and their supporters. Even the southern border is far from secure---keep the heat on him ...and Sen John Cornyn the Republican ranking member on immigration...to stop any immigration bills that grant amnesty.

We can't lose focus, they want us to believe removing felons is enough....it is NOT.

What they are doing now amounts to Open Borders for everyone else and it will NOT fly with Americans.

From the frying pan to the depths of burning hell.........

In reference to Obama being a mere extenstion of Bush.........

Oh no, Obama-Messiah has infinite wisdom and will always do what is best for all concerned in our country. Sarcasm.

I did not like the way Bush handled the war and immigration among other things but at least he did not have 32 Secret Czars, Amerocorp troops waiting in the wings to supress the American people, a La Raza member in the Supreme Court, Acorn and Union thugs collecting private information from the American people. And these same thugs threatening violence at Town Hall meetings to innocent Americans that want their so-called representatives to be accountable.

I also don't recall Bush putting Americans on Anti-American lists if they dared to disagree with any policies and/or legislation. And Bush never bowed to Arabic kings and/or financially supported our enemies to the extent we are seeing now. Bush never enacted the Stimulus bill putting us in debt for over a trillion dollars filled with 9,000 special money for his buddies. Bush never exhibited the blatant racism we see in this administration. Bush did not have secret domestic troops operations on our soil. No-one was ever followed or arrested for putting an Anti-Bush sticker on their car and/or expressing their dislike for Bush in public.
Bush never allowed the Chinese flag to be hoisted over Washington ever.
I could go on and on, suffice it to say, my point is made.

Bush is a walk in the park compared to what we have in office now.

It is vital that we understand who and what we are dealing with so that we know how to fight back on issues like Amnesty.

I know there are many conservatives who felt they could not support John McCain---and yes, we would probably be involved in an immigration fight with him in the Exec. branch. But now we are involved in several fights, deficit spending is spiraling upward and other countries are talking about dropping the US dollar as reserve currency. Better the devil you know, I think.......look what we have now.

    You're right as rain!

An insincere and/or calculating amnesty zealot with a keyboard can be a mighty dangerous and frustrating entity.
