A Monmouth man and a Monmouth juvenile both were arrested Tuesday after allegedly attempting to obtain a false state identification card.

Canton police had responded to the local Secretary of State's Office, Department of Motor Vehicles, located on West Locust Street, at approximately 10:27 a.m., in regard to a complaint that someone had presented false identification in an attempt to obtain a state identification card, reports said.

During the course of the investigation, Ramone Savedra Garcia, 33, of Monmouth was arrested for perjury and obstructing justice. The 16-year-old male juvenile was charged with perjury.


Both were taken to Canton Police Department for processing. Garcia was later transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown to await an appearance in front of a judge, scheduled for 1 p.m. today.

The juvenile was issued a Juvenile Intake Referral and released to the custody of a family member.
