Forsyth County, NC-- Six people have been arrested following what law enforcement calls an extended investigation.

Officers from Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Guilford County Sheriff's Office, Winston-Salem Police Department, Kernersville Police Department, Stokes County Sheriff's Office, and Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), executed three search warrants and arrested individuals they say were involved with cocaine trafficking.

Investigators said as a result of the searches, over 11 pounds of cocaine valued in excess of $550,000 was seized along with two firearms, four vehicles, and cash.

The six people arrested were identified as:

    •Cecio Hernandez Hernandez of Clemmons
    •Carlos Lopez Canals of Clemmons
    •Jose Eleazar hernandez of Winston-Salem
    •Alejandro Rumbo-Lopez of Kernersville
    •Manuel Antonio Inzunza-Valdez of Winston-Salem
    •Luis Miguel Curiel-Acuna of Winston-Salem

Detectives did not release photographs of the suspects but say they all face drug trafficking and immigration violation charges. Although the arrests were made in Forsyth County, some of the suspects are being held in the Guilford County Jail.

    Jose

I know one of these boys and out of my experience with him I don't believe he is involved in any of this. I agree with legal immigration but there are some circumstances that can't be helped. This boy was brought into the US when he was in fourth grade. He had no control over what his parents did. My daughter went to the same middle school with him. Now we had no idea he was illegal. He moved across the street from me about a year ago and he ended up being a part of our lives. I am an American citizen, born and raised. Jose went to school with one of my kids, played soccer, my daughter helped him with his homework, he would go work out, etc. Now I'm not a criminal. I'm against drugs, and I believe in following the law. Unfortunately one of my girls is pregnant by him. I never once seen him or his family involved with drugs. My daughter would go to his house and learn how to cook Mexican food from his mom. She would go to church with his family. I read the search warrent papers and nowhere in them was Jose's name. I don't know the full circumstances because I haven't talked to his lawyer yet but I was told that Jose was pulled cuz he was following his brother. Now if he is innocent which I pray he is this is my point....Welfare wants the father to pay child support, Jose wants to be with his child but might get deported, How can the govt. expect a father to take care of his baby if they deport him. Jose was taking parenting classes and went to a birthing class with my daughter. He has done everything he can to make sure his child has what it needs. I don't have much money. Just about everything that my grandchild has received has come from his family from a baby shower. Don't stereotype and think that Jose got his money from drugs. I was told that he worked painting cars for a cousin. Like I said before I don't know all the facts and I won't know them until this is overwith, but not all Mexican's are here illegally cuz they chose to. What happens to the child when the parents bring them over? They are caught up in the mess to. If he is involved in drugs, which again I don't think he is, then I say he needs to suffer the consequences. However, if he's being sent back cuz he's illegal then why should he have to suffer cuz of what his parents did. He wants to be a part of his child's life.

This is indeed a sad situation yet just think of all the children that are parentless due to their parents addictions or spending time in prison for drug sales.

I take a personal look at my childrens relationships daily would have questioned his mom on his status before allowing my daughter to make such a uninformed lifetime decision.

    my children

I didn't allow my child to be with Jose. She went behind my back. I wasn't home the night she got pregnant. I went to church. She told me she had homework to do. It's not often I let my children stay home by themselves. As far as the court case with Jose. It has been continued twice. On top of it I heard Carlos Lawyer question why Carlos was being held in jail because the prosecution don't have their stuff together. The same with Jose. He doesn't even know why he's in jail. What you see above is a press release from the Sherriff's department. The address from the Winston Salem Journal for Jose is wrong. A press release isn't written by a journalist but in this incident it was written by somebody in the Sherriffs office As far as Jose's parents. I was told his mom was trying to find a better life for her kids. She has a tax number. I saw it. His father came over legally but his papers expired. This is what I heard. Again my concern is for my grandchild and I will do anything within my power to keep Jose here in the U.S. My daughter and him want to get married. They wanted to get married before this whole incident. I told them they had to take marriage counseling and budgeting classes before I would sign. Well the situation has changed.

an update about the 6 who got arrested last year.

Like I said, Jose was innocent. He was released, charges were dropped. In reply to Hawk. you are wrong. Mom is working to take care of her child. Dad is working and doing what he can. The red tape is making it hard for him to get a job. The child isn't unwanted. She is loved. Also before you talk about someone else, you should walk in that person's shoes. :P
