House Speaker Paul D. Ryan said Thursday that illegal immigrant Dreamers don’t have to worry about being deported under a Trump administration, telling a mother that there won’t be a deportation force “knocking on your door this year.”

Mr. Ryan also said Congress won’t create the deportation force that Donald Trump talked about during the election campaign because there is no need.

“There won’t be a deportation force,” he told CNN in a town hall.

The network confronted Mr. Ryan with an illegal immigrant mother who is also a Dreamer under President Obama’s 2012 amnesty, and with a woman whose son was killed by a repeat criminal who was in the U.S. illegally.

Mr. Ryan said the charge he has taken from Mr. Trump is to target the serious criminals for deportation while finding a way to grant Dreamers and other low-priority illegal immigrants legal status.

“That’s the problem he wants to focus on,” he said, pointing to the mother who lost her son. “This is not the focus,” he then said, pointing at the illegal immigrant mother, who stood with her daughter.

“If you’re worried about some deportation force coming and knocking on your door this year, don’t worry about that,” he assured the illegal immigrant.

The government already has a deportation force: the agents at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mr. Trump’s campaign plan called for tripling the number of ICE agents.

WOW, is he actually saying Trump has directed him to find a way to give DACA illegals and other illegals amnesty? If this is true, it's huge news!

We have a problem with Speaker Ryan. He is determined not to budge one bit on amnesty where the illegal alien dreamers and others are concerned. He is for deportation for identified criminals only from what he has said recently. The problem is that there are many illegal alien criminals not identified or caught. Many more Americans, mothers, fathers, children will be devastated by illegal alien crime from DACA and DAPA individuals.

There will be no legal status of any kind under Trump because Trump has said and pay attention even if Idiot Ryan can't or won't, Trump's priority is to remove millions of criminal illegal aliens, all visa overstays, everyone on welfare or other benefits, and anyone who won't or can't support themselves, to enforce the law and secure the border. Then IF there is anyone else left, he will review the individual situations at that time to see what should be done keeping in mind he says that others waiting to come in legally should be considered first in fairness to them and our citizens.

2) we will deport violent and repeat criminal illegal aliens,

then, we will deal with the undocumented in a humane manner.

When people get confidence border secure, these thornier issues will be resolved.

Trump transition and Ryan are working on something for DACA and others.

Which is obviously amnesty if you read Ryan's own words. This is not good. Actually, this is horrible news!

What Ryan is saying is he himself is trying to convince Trump on DACA. Trump doesn't want DACA or DAPA or anything to do with it. So if Ryan wants to claim he's trying to get Trump on board for DACA, then that's his problem. I don't think Trump will ever do that. He's going to reverse DACA and DAPA executive orders on his first day in office. If Congress tries to pass a new one, Trump will veto it.

Judy, this is what happens when decades of betrayal takes place and Presidents and Congress forget about the best for the nation and its citizens. President Elect Trump is going into a world where amnesty will be demanded before any new legislation takes place. Hopefully they can use current laws to achieve great strides to combat illegal immigration and amnesty. Those who want amnesty will not give. I think they are embolden to succeed on this.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Congressional Republicans are working with the Trump transition team on a solution for immigrants brought illegally to this country as kids, House Speaker Paul Ryan said Thursday.

Hundreds of thousands of these immigrants gained temporary protections and work permits from President Barack Obama. While campaigning for president, Donald Trump promised to undo those protections, putting the immigrants at risk of deportation.

Ryan didn't detail how Congress and Trump would dispose of the program, called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. But when questioned on a CNN town hall by a woman who identified herself as a DACA recipient with a young daughter, Ryan told her he did not want to see her deported.


"I can see you love your daughter, you are a nice person who has a great future ahead of you, and I hope your future is here," Ryan said.

"What we have to do is find a way to make sure that you can get right with the law, and we've got to do this in a good way so that the rug doesn't get pulled out from under you and your family gets separated."

Host Jake Tapper pointed out that Trump, during the campaign, promised a "deportation force" to round up the more than 11 million immigrants in the country illegally. Ryan dismissed that idea.


"I'm here to tell you in Congress it's not happening."

Instead, Ryan said Trump has asked lawmakers to focus on two priorities with respect to illegal immigration: securing the border and deporting immigrants who are violent, repeat criminals.

DACA goes way beyond those brought as babies by their illegal parents - it includes all sneakers with the below criteria. Sick of hearing the lies @ sob sob babies brought here years ago when it is meant to sneakily encompass all under 31 in this country illegally - that has nothing to do with being a baby brought by parents. It doesn't do much good to reverse it if you're going to team up with the U.S. Congress to actually pass a legalization program. We've already heard it said that Ryan and Trump's transition team are working on a "humane" program that will allow them to stay. It's also no secret that the U.S. Senate is working on the same thing as we speak. Supposedly their plan already has the support of several traitorous Republicans (Flake, Graham, McCain).

My whole point is, ending DACA is useless if you're replacing it with another legalization program. Using a different technique to end up with the same outcome does not serve our country's best interest. Amnesty is amnesty, regardless of how you end up there.

Trump has already said many times that he doesn't support amnesty or legalization of any kind. If Ryan thinks he can bamboozle Trump, then that just shows how stupid Ryan is. Trump is not going to support any legalization of illegal aliens until many years from now, and only then possibly, he cushions even that with what about all the legal immigrants waiting in line legally, how is that fair to them. What people in the media don't understand or fail to ignore is that when Trump talks about being "fair", he's not talking about being fair to illegal aliens, he's talking about being fair to US citizens and Legal Immigrants. When he talks about being "humane", he means being humane to illegal aliens during deportation, a safe deportation, he means providing them food while in custody and urgent medical attention if they need it while in detention centers awaiting deportation, treating them the same as any person in custody, he means deporting families as "single units", no broken families, no child or spouse left behind, deported all together as a family.

Trump wants to help unemployed and underemployed Americans and black Americans in our inner cities, not illegal aliens. Just because Paul Ryan wants amnesty and doesn't want a deportation force, doesn't mean we'll have amnesty and won't have a deportation force. Trump will veto any amnesty or legalization bill, you can take that to the bank, and Trump will have his own people handle deportations. Congress is a different branch of government, all it can do is pass laws and hope a President signs it. This President won't sign an amnesty or legalization bill, not in his first year, second year, third year or fourth year, and I doubt he'll do so in a second term, because by the end of his first term there won't be anyone left to amnesty or legalize. Americans will be back to work supporting themselves with great jobs with affordable health care, our budget will down as will many in the states because they aren't funding illegal aliens any more, and any hope of an "amnesty" will be a fruitless cause because there won't be anyone left to give amnesty to or legalize.

You can't create Donald Trump's story for him. Trump is going to do what Trump is going to do, regardless of what you or I may think or say. As I've learned in my 58 years of life, political campaign promises sound sincere when they're made, but things can change, and change quickly, once the campaigner has achieved his goal of office. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Trump actually say all his promises were flexible?

Anything that allows the DACA illegals to continue their stay here is amnesty. It's time we accept the reality of the situation. The DACA illegals aren't going anywhere and will still be here when the next President, after Trump, assumes office. They will receive formal legalization that will eventually put them on a path to citizenship, which will be amnesty. Anyone that wants to bet against the amnesty would have to be considered a serious underdog at this point in my opinion. The writing is on the wall for anyone that wants to read it. Just listen to the verbal hints coming from Trump, Ryan, and the Senate.

Yes, you did contradict yourself. You can't know that this isn't something Ryan told the Journalist/reporter that wrote the article. Just because there is no live sound bite of him saying it doesn't mean it wasn't said. Like I said, if the claim were not inaccurate, we would have heard so from Ryan, Trump, or Trump's transition team. This is not something they would let go by unnoticed. It's not "FAKE NEWS" unless you can prove it is. So, bottom line, there has been nothing exposed on this.

Geez, I'm sure Trump and/or his transition team are fully aware of all news coming out on him through the media. If not, someone is probably failing in their job. I'm also fairly certain Paul Ryan and/or someone on his staff knows about the story, yet we've heard no dispute or demand for a correction. If I'm wrong about the attempt to give DACA illegals amnesty, I'll publicly acknowledge you were right and I was wrong. However, I'm not letting my guard down because after the many things being said and done lately, it looks like a real possibility.

Why would anyone want to stop a fellow patriot from ringing the warning bell? I smell a serious push on a DACA amnesty (it's in the works as we speak), you can ignore my warning if you so choose, but sitting on my hands in the face of such a threat is not in my DNA.

Of course it's in the works in Congress. Ryan said he was pushing for it. Democrats are pushing for it. A lot of open borders Republicans are pushing for it. There's probably already a bi-partisan bill prepared. Dick Durbin reported in December he was drafting a bill for it.

That is CONGRESS. Not Trump.

WASHINGTON - Illinois U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is one of several "Gang of Eight" senators that are plotting legislation for the new Congress to grant amnesty to those that say they were brought into the U.S. unlawfully as minors.

Pro-amnesty Sens. Durbin and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) are working on a bill to grant legal status to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), President Obama’s executive amnesty program that was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Sen. Graham and I discussed it again this morning and we hope to even have this bill ready before we leave next week, a bipartisan effort to say to the new president, ‘give these young people a fighting chance,’” Durbin said in The Hill last week.

Approximately 740,000 illegal aliens have received DACA since President Obama unilaterally implemented it in 2012, the Federation for American Immigration Reform reports.

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is also supportive of a DACA amnesty. Rubio said he would not “retroactively remove” the temporary “legal” protections DACA recipients received from President Obama.

“It expires. And what I would say is, if you have it, you’ll have it for the remainder of that period of time, but you will not be able to renew it,” Rubio said. “In the meantime, and it’s not a long period of time, but it does give us the time to do border security, modernization, and then move to something very reasonable for people like those who came here as children, or those who have been here for a long time who are not criminals to allow them to attain some legal status through a legal way, not an unconstitutional way, which is what DACA is.”

FAIR says the push for amnesty in the aftermath of the 2016 election shows how out of touch these senators are with the American people.

"Donald Trump made opposing illegal immigration a focal point of this platform throughout the campaign," the group says in a Nov 15thlegislative update. "This position clearly resonated with voters: a Pulse Opinion Research poll commissioned by the Center for Immigration Studies just ahead of the election found that voters overwhelmingly want our immigration laws enforced."

The poll found that 56 percent of likely voters supported “causing illegal aliens to return to their home countries by penalizing employers, getting cooperation from local law enforcement, and denying welfare benefits” and 54 percent believed that there has been “too little effort placed on enforcing our immigration laws."

A Zogby Analytics exit poll conducted on behalf of FAIR similarly found that American voters, including Hispanic Americans, want our immigration laws enforced.

Lastly, Sen. Graham’s claim that a DACA amnesty would “pass overwhelming” is not supported by fact. Indeed, Congress has repeatedly considered and rejected the DREAM Act. The DREAM Act was included in the “comprehensive” immigration reform bills that Congress refused to pass in 2006, 2007, and 2013. As a standalone measure, the bill has been equally unsuccessful.

Yeah, that's what I thought, no MW ringing a warning bell, he didn't even make a post on that thread. Lorrie posted the article and GeorgiaPeach and I raised hell about it in our posts and Beezer agreed.

We are not in this mess because of Donald Trump. We're in this mess because of these traitors in Congress. Donald Trump is going to get US out of this mess not dig US in deeper. Trump is not our enemy, he is the best friend we've ever had as an organization and deserves more respect and support than what he's getting from some. We need to keep our battle lines straight.

My warning is that PE Trump is going to support some sort of path that will continue an amnesty for DACA illegals. Trump's involvement and support is my warning. Heed it or ignore it, your choice, but please don't attempt to claim my warning is something it's not.

Of course I know the Senate and Ryan is working on an amnesty bill. You must think I live in a bomb shelter out in the middle of the Nevada desert. I realize I don't have the huge amount of free time you obviously do, but I do keep up with the news and consider myself well informed on all issues regarding illegal immigration. Well, actually you were just trying to demean me, but of course I knew that. That too is a standard practice you tend to utilize against those you disagree with. :-?

Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson slammed House Speaker Paul Ryan for promising an illegal immigrant that they will not be deported at a town hall event Thursday night hosted by CNN. Pierson said it should raise eyebrows that Ryan will make promises to non-citizens but wouldn't promise a mother whose son was murdered by an illegal immigrant who also asked a question at the town hall that there would be no more murders of U.S. citizens by those who are undocumented.

Here's an excerpt of the question Ryan received and how he answered, as played on The O'Reilly Factor Friday night:

ANGELICA VILLALOBOS: Thank you, Speaker Ryan. My name is Angelica Villalobos. I'm undocumented. I've been - like he mentioned, I've been living in the State of Oklahoma. I'm here with one of my daughters, Destiny. I've been in the United States for 21 years. I am protected from deportation because of the DACA program.... Do you think that I should be deported and many families in my situation should?

RYAN: No. No, Angelica. First of all, I can see that you love your daughter and you are a nice person who has a great future ahead of you and I hope your future is here... But if you're worried about, you know, some deportation force coming, knocking on your door this year, don't worry about that.

"One has to raise their eyebrows when the sitting House Speaker makes a policy promise to a non-citizen residing in this country, particularly one that is in direct contradiction to the election results, not just in the country but in his home state," Pierson said. "More importantly, unless this is the Speaker's way of wanting to introduce legislation to codify this piece of Obama's legacy, on January 20th there will be a new president and that will be Donald Trump and he's the only one who would have authority over that executive order."

"What we left out of this discussion is Marry Ann Mendoza, the mother who spoke to Paul Ryan prior to this mother, whose son was a police officer that was killed by a repeat offender. There was no promise to her that we were going to make sure that this wouldn't happen to a family here in the United States. And that's who we should be making the promises to," the former Trump spokesperson told Eric Bolling.
