PAWTUCKET – On Dec. 27, members of the Pawtucket Police Special Squad culminated an investigation into the illegal distribution of heroin with the arrest of Yatniel S. Padilla, age 30, of 167 Benefit St. in Pawtucket. He was taken into custody on Broadway.
Padilla was charged with four counts of delivery of heroin, operating on a suspended license, obstruction of a police officer by providing a false name, and a district court warrant. Police determined that Padilla also re-entered the United States illegally. A detainer was placed on him by representatives for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
At the time of Padilla’s arrest, he had $1,570 in cash in his possession. The currency was seized and forfeiture proceedings have begun to surrender this currency in accordance with Rhode Island law, according to a news release from the Pawtucket Police Department.
On Dec. 28, Padilla was brought before the District Court of the State of Rhode Island and arraigned on the above charges. He was held without bail.

Wonderful news that he was caught, but he had been deported once before. Hope he doesn't just come back again. Rhode Island is one State that needs to be harder on illegals.
