Thread: Pelosi: Dreamers’ parents ‘did a great thing’ in sneaking them into U.S.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Wednesday that illegal immigrant parents who brought their children to the U.S. in defiance of the law “did a great thing,” giving the country an infusion of successful young people.

Mrs. Pelosi’s comments strike a dissonant note from many analysts, who while saying the Dreamers are sympathetic since they had no say in the decision, say the parents do deserve blame for creating the problem.

He comments came after she was shouted down by protesters earlier this week who interrupted her at an event, and demanded she do more to protect all illegal immigrants. Mrs. Pelosi, at her weekly press conference in Washington on Wednesday, said she does want to protect a broader swath of illegal immigrants, but that’s not the debate at this point.

“We don’t have that opportunity now,” she said.

President Trump’s decision earlier this month to phase out the legally questionable Obama-era deportation amnesty for young illegal immigrants, known as DACA, has ignited a fierce push in Congress to grant a more permanent legal status for the Dreamers.

Most lawmakers say they believe the children deserve special consideration because they are without blame, having been brought to the U.S. as minors without any say. Those lawmakers say the children shouldn’t be punished for their parents’ decisions.

But Mrs. Pelosi said those parents’ decision was actually a positive.

“Their families did a great thing for our country bringing these kids here,” she said.

She said Democrats are rallying around a bill that would greatly expand the number of illegal immigrants eligible for legal status beyond the DACA program. Any illegal immigrant who came to the U.S. under age 18, who has been in the U.S. for four years and who has worked toward a high school diploma could qualify.

According to the bill, even those who came on their own and weren’t brought by parents — some of those who streamed into the U.S. as part of the Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) surge of the Obama years — would qualify.

Pelosi needs to retire now she is encouraging and applauding people to break our laws. This is what we have working and being paid and making and passing laws? This is the best we can do?

Fox News host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson ripped into House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday after she praised the families of DREAMers as doing a “great thing” for the country by illegally bringing their children into the United States.

“Their families did a great thing for our country, bringing these kids here who are working, who are in the military, who are in school, who are a brilliant part of our future,” Pelosi said at a press conference earlier on Wednesday.

“Breaking our laws is now a great thing, says one of our country’s chief lawmakers. People who ignore the legislation Congress writes, should be congratulated for it, says one of Congress’ top leaders,” Carlson said, noting the contradiction of lawmakers encouraging lawbreaking.

“That’s more than perverse. This is what it looks like when the people in charge of a country decide to destroy it. Their motive? it’s always the same, political power. They lost it, they want it back — even if it means hurting the people they are sworn to protect. Democrats alienated the middle of the country during the Obama years but they have no plans to convince those voters to return,” he continued.

“Instead, they plan to replace them with new and more reliable voters from abroad and damn the consequences for the rest of us. That’s why they are far more upset about DACA than they are about the opioid crisis. That’s why they care more about preventing a border wall than they do about raising the wages of American workers. It’s not complicated. What’s amazing is they are now saying it out loud.”

There can be no DACA Deal, no Dream Act, no more frauds, charades and farces to accommodate illegal aliens who have violated US Immigration Law. It ALL has to stop now, ALL illegal aliens must be deported, to ever end this scourge of illegal immigration into the United States, once and for all, no exceptions, no exemptions, no mercy.
