Pendleton Marines arrive at border ahead of potential migrant caravan

POSTED 12:28 PM, NOVEMBER 8, 2018, BY SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE

Camp Pendleton Marines arrive Thursday at the San Ysidro Port of Entry to help support operations ahead of migrant caravan groups heading toward the U.S. border. (John Gibbins/Union-Tribune)

SAN DIEGO – Troops from Camp Pendleton reported for their first day of work Thursday along the U.S.-Mexico border, part of President Donald Trump’s show-of-force response to thousands of Central American migrants traveling in caravans toward the southwestern border.

The Marines will start by placing barriers along the border, said Michael Kucharek, a spokesman at U.S. Northern Command.

Details on where the barriers will be placed or what kind of materials will be used were not available Thursday.

Several Marines and large military trucks could be seen staging near the San Ysidro Port of Entry Thursday morning, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

1,100 Pendleton Marines headed to border for Operation Faithful Patriot

Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Department of Defense plan to hold a joint news conference on “Operation Secure Line” on Friday to provide more information.

So far, some 1,300 troops have been assigned to support operations along the California-Mexico border. About 1,100 are already serving at Camp Pendleton with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force as part of a special purpose marine-air-ground task force, officials said Thursday.

They will be deployed in waves as needed, Kucharek said.

Another 1,500 troops have been deployed in Arizona and 2,800 in Texas as of Thursday, the DOD said. The total number is expected to grow to more than 7,000 active duty troops supporting the mission.

Had better not be like Obama's "red line" in the sand in Syria!

    Keep them all out!

Where is your Executive Order President Trump?

No catch and release, no warehousing them and NO asylum!

SEND THEM ALL BACK ON A BUS

Military police from the 93rd military police battalion in Ft Bill Texasand Marines from the 7th engineering support battalion based out of Camp Pendleton, California, were the first of more than 1,000 troops ordered to the border region in San Diego by President Trump to support US Customs and Border Patrol after the President feared that the Country was about to be "invaded" by several caravans of migrants heading to our southern border, mostly Hondurans, to ask for asylum.

Fire up those tanks and bulldozers and start bulldozing a WIDE path for border patrol vehicles, ATV's and horses.

Bulldoze and burn that brush down where they hide along the Rio Grande!

DO NOT DETAIN...PROCESS AND DEPORT THEM ON THE SPOT!

"OPERATION BOUNCE BACK". THEY CAME THROUGH MEXICO AND THEY CAN GO RIGHT BACK HOME THROUGH MEXICO!

DEPORT THEM BACK TO THE 1ST BORDER THEY ILLEGALLY CROSSED.

Marines from the 7th Engineering Support Battalion from Camp Pendleton, Ca., worked just east of the San Ysidro Port of Entry worked to "harden" the border in support of Operation Secure Line, which was ordered by President Trump, fearing an "invasion" of immigrants coming to the border from Central American countries.
