Fake degrees help terrorists skirt immigration, lawmakers say

Worthless university degrees “conferredâ€

I think that until we get our immigration problem, legal and illegal, we should put a hold on all visas and foriegn worker programsl. When we get our country in order then we can start letting immigrant back into our country. HOWEVER, i think we should start being choosey on which countries we let immigrants in.

I am so with you on that.

This is ridiculous - and I don't for a moment believe it would be that hard to discover a fake ID, fake diploma.

Is it just me, or does it seem like our government doesn't want to check these people out?

If they made me 'boss' - I would put a hold on all immigration - except for uniting parents and underage children or spouses. The spouse thing would be scrutinized carefully.

Then revamp the entire system.

Well that explains why all my engineering degrees aren't getting me so much as an interview. Two interviews in two years, and everyone who met me during that time said I'm the smartest person they know. Apparently not - I played by the rules. Beyond my own story though - the potential this would lead to a terrorist attack just chills me to the bone. I really didn't know it was THAT easy to get fake degrees.
