PHOENIX (AP) — Nearly 300 people have gathered in Phoenix to protest deportations as well as the inability of some immigrants to get driver's licenses.

Demonstrators marched more than a mile Saturday afternoon to the office of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Carrying white balloons, protesters shouted chants such as "undocumented unafraid."

Demonstrators called for Gov. Jan Brewer to allow driver's licenses for young immigrants, or "dreamers," protected under President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

"Dreamers" is a reference to the DREAM Act, a proposed law that would give legal status to people illegally brought to the U.S. as children.

They also called for Obama to halt all deportations while Congress remains deadlocked on immigration reform.

The protesters represented 50 state affiliates of the United We Dream, an immigrant youth-led network that is having its national conference in Phoenix.

Illegal aliens are FOREIGNERS who sneak across our border, evade arrest, become squatters, refuse to go home and then demonstrate on OUR STREETS making demands to OUR LEGISLATORS about what they should be given. THIS IS SICK BEYOND RATIONAL THOUGHT. Amnesty would not even be a serious issue except for the multimillion dollar campaign being financed by the mega rich. Millions are given to political organizations that could not exist on their own merits, theater creating an illusion of a public desire for amnesty and millions to purchase the votes of corrupt politicians.

He documents that only 1 “conservative” group, The National Policy Institute, received a federal grant of $18,094. While 111 “progressive” groups received $325.3 million in federal grants! There is a similar pattern for other types of leftwing groups.

Also virtually every major, private, philanthropic organization is now controlled by leftists who channel money to leftwing groups. He estimates that the political left has 10 times the assets of rightwing groups.
