CLINTON >> Police arrested a local man Monday morning on multiple drug charges after executing a search and seizure warrant at a home on Liberty Lane, according to a release.

Arrested was Rogerio Martins, 26, of 15 Liberty Lane. Police say Martins was found inside of his home with individual packets of cocaine, drug packaging, cutting agents, paraphernalia and $18,000 in cash. Martins was also found with two IDs, one for Martins and another under the name Sandro Dias Bimini. Police say a fingerprint scan showed that Martins was arrested in 2007 under the alias Allen Almedia for assault with a firearm. He was deported to his native country of Brazil at that time. Police say it is undetermined how Martins made re-entry into the country.

Martins was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with a search warrant. The U.S. Department of Immigration issued a detainer on Martins and he is being held at Clinton police headquarters on $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
