Police officers detained in Nuevo Leon

A police commander and eight police officers from Sabinas Hidalgo in the state of Nuevo Leon have been detained. They are sus-pected of being informants for the Zetas and tied to the July 1 murder of two fed-eral police.

Mexico’s Secretariat of Public Safety announced the July 5 detentions Thursday.

The commander was identified as Ricardo Fran-cisco Monsiváis Tovar, 25.

The police officers were identified as Gerardo IsaÃ*as Quiroz Sosa, alias "Tercero Quiroz,â€
