Police tutor Hispanic immigrants on U.S. laws

Many Hispanic immigrants have little idea how American police operate.

"For example," said Pilar Brito, who arrived in Forest Park from Mexico two years ago, "Hispanic people think police get to keep the money from tickets they give. And Hispanics feel when they are stopped by police, that they are targeted. But the police let us know in the class that they are stopping us for the actions of the car; they don't know the drivers."

Brito, 32, is a student at the Forest Park Hispanic Citizens Police Academy, Academia de Policia para la Comunidad. The academy is designed to improve police relations with Hispanic residents, many who assume American police behave like police in their native countries â€â€

That line made me fall out of my chair. The problem is they just don't care how many rules or laws they break, and are actually getting rewarded for breaking them. The first rule they should learn is they entered the country illegally, and you're quickly getting deported back to your country of origin.

Brian503a - They know that ONE....the most important one of all, and still they break it. Lack of knowledge about the laws that apply to them is not the problem. They cheat getting here, and they cheat and scam the system every day they are here. They must go home and leave us. We have enough problems without all these additional problems.

I know all about the problems with illegals since I live in California, which is ground zero for the plague. I'm watching my own town quickly getting over run with them, and the schools dominated with their children.

I think many illegal immigrants have little to no fear of being deported anymore once they get past the border. They have an attitude of doing nothing wrong, and the we the racist U.S. citizen are the ones that should be deported since we are standing in their way. They want all the American life has to offer but do not want to pay their dues earning it like legal immigrants, or citizens. But they also demand recognition, respect and, legitimacy from us, while giving us none in return. Laws and rules are only for the gringos who live here. They are not going to leave until our politicians make some real laws to address the situation, which I'm not expecting anytime soon.

This bill now in Congress will bar admission of aliens and facilitate their removal.

People are working....we need more support....more letters, more emails, more phone calls....things are happening but to MAKE IT HAPPEN, the American People have to become very informed, very fast, and react immediately.

I realize how depressing it must be to live in California. But there is hope. To turn that hope into action, WE need to fight back and Take Our Country Back.

HR 688 will do that.

WE need to track this bill and do everything we can do get it passed.
