POLL: Majority of Voters Believe the Biden Administration Has Dropped the Ball on Immigration

According to a Rasmussen poll released on June 30, 2022, American voters are becoming uncomfortable with the alarming levels of illegal immigration and believe it will impact the way they vote in the 2022 midterms.

The majority of individuals polled in this survey don’t believe Biden is doing a good job on immigration matters.

Per the poll, 52% of likely United States voters believe illegal immigration is worsening. Only 11% believe it’s improving, per the poll’s findings. 67% indicated that Biden’s handling of immigration was “fair” or “poor.”

For 73% of voters, immigration would be an “important” issue in the 2022 midterms, whereas 42% said it would be “very important.”

On partisan grounds, 85% of Republicans think the issue will play some role during the 2022 midterms. 69% of Democrat voters and 90% of independent voters shared similar views.

Immigration continues to be an issue that motivates voters on the Right. Part of running effective political campaigns is picking up on the issues that energize the electorate. Ignoring the desires of disgruntled voters is a recipe for political irrelevance.

Right-wing populists would be wise to fully embrace immigration restriction and run enthusiastic campaigns centered on the issue. By doing that, they will coast to easy victories.
