President Barack Obama is ramping up his push to overhaul the immigration system, launching a sustained personal campaign that will rely in part on recruiting outsiders to pressure Congress to take up the controversial issue.

With the current makeup of the U.S. House, I don't think it's possible for Obama to get any sort of amnesty passed right now. If we can strengthen our numbers (non-amnesty supporters) in the House even more in 2012, we probably won't have to worry about an amnesty for years to come. Unfortunately we'll also have to change the makeup of the U.S. Senate or vote in a non-amnesty supporting president if we expect to make any progress on enforcement though.

Unbelievable that our president, elected to protect the interests and well-being of American citizens, continues to work on behalf of law breakers that drain our country of resources and commit crimes against our citizens.

Barnes and Cecilia Munoz, the White House director of intergovernmental affairs, detailed their strategy of pressuring Congress by deploying Cabinet members, senior staff and business, labor and Hispanic groups to make the case.
Most legal and illegal immigrants supports and votes for Democrats, so I do not think many Republicans will risk their jobs granting citizenship's for illegal aliens, when they know the majoirty of citizens do not support amnesty.
