Previously deported murderer caught in Texas

On Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol agents working out of the Eagle Pass Station near Del Rio, along with an Eagle Pass police officer caught 51-year-old Hernan Alvarado-Velasquez, who has been deported multiple times over the last three decades.

During a records check, the agents discovered that Alvarado-Velasquez was most recently deported back to El Salvador on Oct. 8, 2013.

Alvarado-Velasquez's criminal activity in this country spans six states and includes convictions for assault and burglary, as well as much more serious crimes.

The Eagle Pass Business Journal reported:

Alvarado-Velasquez was arrested and convicted in 1994 in Arlington, Va. for assaulting a police officer. In 1997 he was convicted of homicide in Miami and sentenced to 10 years’ incarceration.

In a press release, Chief Border Patrol Agent, Del Rio Sector Rodolfo Karisch said:

Our encounter with this dangerous individual shows the type of environment agents and law enforcement officers deal with on a daily basis."

Alvarado-Velasquez has been charged with illegal re-entry after deportation, a felony, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

This arrest is the just latest example of how meaningless deportations have become due to a lack of border enforcement.

The American people are not only being placed at risk with dangerous foreign criminals entering this country at-will on a daily basis, but we are also being forced to pay for their incarceration and deportations, only to have them re-enter, often within days of their arrival back home.

In short, ours is no longer a nation of laws, but one of men...lawless, corrupt men.
