Republican loses support from PAC organization (ALIPAC) on immigration amnesty

    April 28, 2014
    Christopher Collins

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) announced on Monday that they have dropped their endorsement of Texas Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX) when he came out and surprised the group that that he now supports a path to legalization, through a new guest worker program that would remove current penalties of law for millions of illegal immigration.

ALIPAC stated that they have added Barton to the list of GOP lawmakers that support amnesty for illegal immigrants instead of following the law when it comes to illegal immigration and they will not stand for it or continue to support Barton or any other Republican who endorses amnesty.

“Rep. Joe Barton is playing the Republican trickster game where he says he wants to give illegal aliens a form of legal status but not citizenship and voting rights,” said William Gheen President of ALIPAC. “You do not have to be a legal scholar or a lawyer to know the courts will quickly strike down any attempt of Congress to create a second class version of citizenship. Joe Barton's illegal immigrants would eventually be given voting rights by the courts thus destroying any future hopes for border or immigration law enforcement. His promises of border security are bitter lies that will never come to fruition if the amnesty portion of his expected bill ever becomes law!”

ALIPAC listed several Republicans who are selling out the nation by supporting illegal immigration amnesty and some of the Republicans they included are U.S. Representatives, Justin Amash (R-MI), Jeff Denham (R-CA), Darrell Issa (R-CA), Peter King (R-NY), Paul Ryan (R-WI), and U.S. House Speaker, John Boehner (R-OH).

Along with Obamacare, illegal immigration amnesty has become a hot-topic in this year’s 2014 elections with unusual moves by Republican leadership in pushing amnesty.

Breitbart reported on Saturday that several U.S. House Republicans have been pushing hard for others to support amnesty legislation and discussed bills they plan to introduce in the coming months, possibly by August. Such a push could put states like Arizona and Texas into the hands of the Democrats.

In addition, in March 2014, most voters stated in a poll conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News that they would be less likely to not vote for a candidate supporting amnesty.

The issue of amnesty has gone on for decades and ALIPAC reported that in 1987, Congress passed the Simpson-Mazzoli Act, which granted amnesty for approximately 3 million illegal aliens but that almost all of the enforcement promises of the bill were never adequately implemented.

“This resulted in the current 12-20 million illegal immigrants in America,” said Gheen. “Using the lessons learned and mathematics established by the 1987 amnesty for illegals, we can estimate that any new form of amnesty, legalization, guest worker visa, etc... will result in more than 40 million new illegal immigrants entering America in the next two decades!"
