Should Arizona now boycott Los Angeles over immigration law
Should Arizona now boycott Los Angeles over immigration law protest?
May 12, 2010 | 5:40 pm
Is Arizona going to boycott L.A.?
The Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday voted to ban most city travel to Arizona and future contracts with companies in that state. It was a protest over the state's crackdown on illegal immigrants.
During a morning-long debate on the resolution, council members compared Arizona’s action to Nazi Germany and the beginning of the Holocaust, as well as the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. An Arizona law, which will take effect July 23, will require police to determine whether people they stop are in the country illegally, which critics say will lead to racial profiling.
But there are some grumblings on the Web about a backlash from Arizona over Los Angeles' stance.
"Speaking from Arizona, I wonder if my state should boycott California since you all are so discriminatory against gay folks. I also wonder whether we Arizonans should counter-boycott by cutting off the electricity and water that flow from us to you," one reader, Gary, posted on L.A. Now.
"Perhaps the many of us who head to San Diego, Disneyland and such places during the summer and throughout the year should take our money and spend it elsewhere. Or, perhaps the L.A. City Council should focus on their own problems and keep their nose out of Arizona's business," he added.
[Updated at 6:41 p.m.: Arizona's governor, Jan Brewer, said in a statement that L.A.'s action was "thoughtless and harmful."
At the Gateway Pundit blog, it was noted how much electricity L.A. gets from Arizona. "Maybe the LA council members forgot who supplies the city with electricity. 44% to 50% of the city’s electricity comes from neighboring states including Arizona. The Hoover Dam in Arizona has been providing electricity for Los Angeles since 1936"]

It will backfire on them anyway. The poorer they make us the more the illegals will move elsewhere including there. They are broke. We are broke. We can save that one for later if they persist in their treasonous stupidity. CA has nothing to offer me now. We have no interest in anything there and after those HOLLYWOOD (bleep women of ill repute) made that "illegal" trailer I am DONE DONE DONE with them. Don't even want their movies. They can keep all their produce too. We can buy elsewhere. Besides, haven't some of the e-coli problems come from their fields of disgruntled workers - yes I learnt from you George Lopez - suspected it anyway. I guess we will have to go to extra expense to protect our food supply now here in AZ. With what I have been through with these people and their hatred I put nothing past them. And I don't mean just Mexicans. We have Bosnians that have been resettled here and they push us out of the way in the supermarket and talk to everyone as if we would be their slaves if we were all in Bosnia - then they pay with their food stamp card and take it out to their Lexus. No joke! Citizens are SICK OF THIS! My husband is real popular at our local supermarket when they pick on his 70 year old white haired brown self he gives it back to them and he can say what the employees dare not.

I'd brown out their power in a heart beat. How dare these buttwipes call another state "racist" because they want to stop illegal immigration? How dare they compare any group of Americans to Nazi Germany because they want to protect American Jobs, Wages, Resources, Benefits, Votes, Lives and Futures from the ravages of illegal immigration? Los Angeles needs a tough love lesson. Pull the switch. Let them learn the hard way, they've been kissing the wrong set of cheeks far too long.
And just like Bush should have been impeached for refusing to enforce US immigration law, so should Obama for not only refusing to enforce US immigration law but for lying about this bill, the State of Arizona and the people of Arizona and for violating the US Constitution that formed our government to insure domestic tranquility, not turn state against state, and uninformed morons destroying our nation against informed citizens trying to save it.
Preamble
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

People that are illegally here taking jobs and social services are not restricted to one ethnic group.
There a lot of illegal Chinese, Eastern Europeans, Koreans, Irish, Russians, Hatians, British. Canadians, Guatamalans, Hondurans and Mexicans. etc. None of these people respected our laws and none of them should stay here. But, for some reason, the Mexicans and the Mexican government thinks they are special and advocate the "taking" of part of our country and that part includes Arizona.
Illegal is illegal and we can't afford them. We can't afford the loss of jobs and we can't afford the social welfare, we shouldn't have to.
Our own citizens and legal immigrants of every ethnic background are in a world of hurt and we need to step up and help our countrymen and their families before we take care of people from other counties that don't respect our country and take advantage of our generosity.
