JOSEPHINE COUNTY — An O'Brien man remains in the Josephine County Jail after police raided his home Tuesday, seizing marijuana plants, methamphetamine and three loaded handguns.

Police arrested Danny Lee Striegler, 52, and charged him with felony drug charges including possession, manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine and manufacture and possession of marijuana.

Detectives from the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement interagency team, also known as RADE, were accompanied by a drug detection dog when they entered the home in the 32000 block of Redwood Highway in a remote area near O'Brien, a small community on Highway 199 a few miles north of the California state line.

In all, police found five mature marijuana plants and six small bundles of methamphetamine, according to Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings.

"We believe he had a drug operation working out of the residence," Hastings said. "We don't know if he had the handguns for protection, but it's possible."

Detectives also seized cash, security devices and other evidence.

In addition, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents charged Striegler with suspicion of being in the country illegally. The believe he is a Canadian national living illegally in the U.S., OSP said.

Bobbie L. Forsey, 28, was on the property when police arrived, and police said she was in possession of methamphetamine. She was cited to appear in Josephine County Circuit Court for felony drug possession and released on her own recognizance.

Forsey was not living at the residence at the time of the bust, OSP said.

RADE includes OSP detectives and officials from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety.
