My post to VOLPAC... (wonder if they'll post it)
Sen. Frist,
I've always wondered what it was like to hold someone's life in my hands, as you do with the entire middle class of America. The enormity of that power must really be something. I'm beginning to think you're getting quite tipsy with it.
I've just heard that you and Sen. Reid have reached some sort of compromise to allow your precious amnesty to make it to committee. I only pray that the Patriots in the House can withstand your wrong-headed position and bury this treason in the catbox of history.
Sir, do you not understand what this massive influx of 'cheap (for business) labor is doing to your constituents? Construction wages are down 30+% in the last 10 years with no end in sight. How can you let millions of working-class Americans go down the tubes like this? Do you plan on replacing their votes with those of 'grateful immigrants'? If so, you are in for a rude awakening, because 70% of those criminals you are trying to legalize will no more vote Republican than the man in the moon.
You've just shot your Presidential ambitions in the foot, and I can't say I'm disappointed. You've certainly proven to me that you are UNFIT for the office you currently hold, and would shame the office of President of this great country even more than the current Traitor-in-Chief.
As of today I am rescinding my membership in the Republican Party, something I never thought would happen. My money, time and strenuous efforts now belong to the Constitution Party, who seem to be the ONLY folks who care about that document, and the sovereign nation that was birthed through it.
With gut-wrenching disgust,
Jeff Hermann
Can't get through to Frist but had no problem with McCain. Gave the staffer an earful. They must be getting slammed, the staffer was very testy.
Haven't had much luck getting through on the phone, but did send emails to Frist, McCain, Kennedy, Bush, Kerry, etc.

Right now, they're acting like they'll pass this horrendous legislation despite our opposition. Okay, suppose it gets through both houses of Congress and Bush signs it into law. We can punish them severely at the polls, I'm convinced of that. But once we have a new Congress, can we nullify the law?
I called Dr. Frist's office, indeed, it's jammed. I'll keep trying.
I called Sen. Boxer (I'm in CA), left a message. Called Sen. Feinstein, told Lizzy who answered at the SFO office, I want borders secured now, and I want a big, demoralizing fence, now.
I then want, in short order or concurrently, my current immigration laws vigorously enforced and especially employers prosecuted.
I also called Rep. Sensenbrenner, telling his staffer I now support his bill which does make being here illegally a felony, which can be moderated by a reasonable sentence.
I wrote the following email to Sen. Cornyn:
I support border enforcement immediately. I do want a big, demoralizing fence. Smuggler trucks cannot jump.
I want current immigration laws pursued from start to finish, not just for show. I want employers to pay harsh fines, and for the fines to be collected, for hiring illegalls.
I don't care how long the fine, kind, hard-working illegal aliens have been here, they have been breaking one of the most important laws of America. Their personality and work ethic is not a part of the legal immigration requirements. And under no circumstances can they be rewarded with citizenship. Permanent legal resident status, fine, and they can get that sooner. And they get a medical exam. I want legal applicants only to achieve citizenship. Period.
Especially after the offensive May 1 demonstrations, now, now I do want persons here illegally, along with smugglers, to be charged with felonies. Punishment can be moderated in the types of sentences imposed, but they must be put into our system and a strong, unequivocal message must be sent to Mexico in particular.
Enforcing our laws and being compassionate are not mutually exclusive.
Thank you for your service Sen. Cornyn.
I also sent this to Sen. Frist, JIC I can't make it through by phone:
Hon. Sen. Frist:
I want my borders secured, immediately. I want a fence, big and demoralizing. I want the number of agents augmented by National Guard until they reach capacity staffing. I have seen the numerous postings for Border Patrol Agents on monster.com, so I know it has started. But it will take time to get them trained.
I want the current border and immigration laws vigorously enforced, especially against employers. Now. From start to finish, not just for show.
I am against any immigration reform bill at this time that provides a path to citizenship for persons here illegally, regardless of the number of years they have been breaking the law. Amend the bill, or introduce a different bill, that allows them to reach legal permanent resident status, but they cannot win the right to vote. That option can happen far sooner than climbing to citizenship. No amnesty.
And after watching the demonstrations on May 1, I was so offended, I now support charging illegal aliens with a felony. Yes. My immigration laws are the most important on the books.
Fair? Who said life is fair? Is the word fair a constitutional provision? Extending compassion to people and enforcing current laws are not mutually exclusive. Americans are famous for super-accommodation of needy people.

American - just an American. I happen to also be Mexican.
Respect my laws, my citizen status, my rights, first and always.
I'm on it! I haven't been able to get through to Frist's office yet but I'll keep trying. Will also contact McCain, my Senators and others.
I have been a guest on this great site for months. Today is my first post. I have been calling and e-mailing like crazy.
I got through to McCain office and told the staffer that McCain is making a big mistake to think the American people will but up with Washingtons inaction. We will only accept ENFORCEMENT.
I also sent him this e-mail.
Dear Mr. Senator McCain,
I am currently a registered Republican and have been for 25 yrs, but I will tell you that the issue of illegal immigration will (is) tear this country apart. The lack of leadership in Congress on this very important issue for the last 20yrs is criminal.
Myself and many other Americans are fed up with the pandering for votes that goes on in both parties. You and other politicians are obligated to do what is best for America and her legal citizens. Enforcement of our borders FIRST and only then can we discuss other immigration issues. You or any other politician will NEVER receive my vote if you pass any type of amnesty.
So I hope you are not planning a run for President, because you will be in for a big surprise (remember 1948).
Sincerely,
Keep up the good work, we will not take this sitting down!
I have sent in a total of 20 emails to senators all over the country, and plan to continue to email and make phone calls throughout the evening and all day Friday.
NotRacist,
Welcome to Alipac and your email to congress is great. Glad you are joining us in posting.
I was late getting started with this Red Alert - late afternoon - then had to turn my computer off for an hour due to heavy rain/storm. Then had to chase my teen off the computer. I didn't print off senator phone lists and will get busy here soon and will also try calling tomorrow morning as well.

Every night when I get home I spend about an hr sending e-mails. www.numbersusa.com/actionbuffet is a good site.
And I don't even like computers.
WELCOME, NotRacist! Glad you're here.
Sounds as though these people have been getting an earful all day!
How great is that!!
I haven't visited VOLPAC yet but will soon. No, I haven't been able to get through to Frist's office either but I suppose that is a great sign. :D I'm on the numbersusa email and agree they are a good site. I only like computers when they work and can't figure the dang things out when they don't, that is most of the time when they malfunction.Quote:

If they haven't come to take me away haha haha I will man the phones tomorrow until I get through! We need something quick, I am afraid they are not even reading our emails or paying any attention to phone calls. I wonder what would happen if every single one of us called and told them we were not going to pay our income tax next year or until they start doing their job and passing the laws we have? Could they put us all in jail? Maybe they would send us to Arizona to that Sheriff, I wouldnt mind wearing pink drawers if it would make a statement! Maybe we should send the Mexican Embassy a load of bricks, maybe they would get the message then.
At this point I am for camping out the White House lawn to get our message heard, frankly I think that is what it is going to take for them to hear us
Just sent this to Frist's office and campaign organization:
I used to think you'd make a good president. I've changed my mind. You can forget about ever being President for your support of amnesty.
We do not need new laws. Enforce our existing laws. Do the honest thing and hold the employers accountable for this mass importation of illegal labor immediately. The fines on the lawless employers would fill the depleted tax coffers, yet politicians won't even whisper the words "Enforcement at the Employer Level". Why? Are you a crook too?
None of this would have happened without unethical employers willing to cheat the tax system, cheat the competition that follows employment laws, and cheat the poor undocumented worker out of a decent day's pay. All to enrich themselves. Any politician that is so deep in the pockets of lawless businesses that they can't face this truth will not get my vote.

I have a new political weapon I plan to unleash behind this effort on Monday. I think most of you will like it.
Great work today! I know the Congress takes it easy on Friday but let's keep the heat up on Friday before we rest on the weekend and reignite on Monday.

I e-mailed Frist today. Will devote tomorrow to phone calls.
Called as soon as possible when I got the message this morning. Called Wyden and Smiths offices and Frists.
I tried the toll free number and decided to just call their direct lines. I was on hold the longest with Smith and Frist, a little less with Wydens office.
After Smiths people answered I nicely, but firmly made my statement and in the background I could hear phones going nuts, people being put on hold, and people talking like crazy.
Wydens office had similar background noises (see I am a mother of three kids and 9 nieces and nephews, so my hearing is excellent).
Frists office seemed better manned for the calls, but still busy.
I forwarded this request for calls to everyone I know to call their reps., and Frist.
I will be leaving in a few minutes to get all the days errands out of the way so I can spend as much time as possible "working" on this mess.Quote:

I'm making a sticky out of this thread.
The phone lines are hot and calls are coming in every 15 minutes.
Frist has really stepped in it with this.
A nerve has been touched. America is responding!

I just heard over the radio that Bush will give a major address on "immigration" Monday night. This has got to be in response to our phone calling, faxing and emailing, I'm convinced of it . . . the corporate lobby feels our heat and is trotting out its biggest gun. But I'm counting on that gun to misfire! Just let ol' Smirkface drop that same line about illegals "doing jobs that Americans won't do," and he will stir up the populace like a hornet's nest against the amnesty bill. He'll do much of our work for us!
BTW, I just got an email from National Public Radio. It's the first indication I've had that they even read my complaints about their slanted immigration coverage. Here's what their message says:

That was a polite way of saying we do not care. Will watch the president on Monday as long as I can without throwing up. It makes me want to jump into the TV and [mod edit]when every time I hear him say jobs americans won't do. Let us see what he will spew on Monday as they are surely going to try to jam this down our throat no matter what we do. We have to stand as one and say "not this time ***holes"
I finally got through to Frist and McCain offices earlier today.
I was put on hold at Frists office for what seemed like five minutes. I hung up, called back to try to leave a voice mail message and it said the mail box was full. So, I called back again to speak with a person, was put on hold for a while again before finally being able to leave a message.
There was a long holding time with McCain's office too, and right away they put me through to a voice mail where I left a message.
I tried calling Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton and never got through. I let the phone ring for a long time before hanging up. Nobody answered.
Also called my two senators as well as several others in different states.
Just about every office I called had hold times.
George W. Bush doesn't have to be talking about immigration for me to want to do that.  :twisted:Quote:
It makes me want to jump into the TV and knock him out when every time I hear him say jobs americans won't do.
Couldn't get through on the phone will try very late tonight sent e-mails to both of them. Told them that if amnesty is granted get used to hearing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
I'm in Conroe, Tx. I wish I had a group to go to the courthouse with!! I can not find anyone in my town who is willing to protest with me.

houston,
If I lived anywhere near you I'd go protest with you. I just had an enjoyable experience last Saturday at a Hickory, NC protest where no counter protestors showed up (I believe this is unusual normally :?: ).
And, after standing in the hot sun for about four hours, several of us went to a nearby restaurant after and had a great time. We were hungry and some of us even had a beer too!
Heck! If I knew counter protestors were going to show I'd attend a rally anyway as long as I didn't have to bring my minor children, which I would not do unless in a rough spot and was very certain there would be no counters or violence.
But, you live in Texas and I live in North Carolina. :( So, getting together for a protest/rally is mostly out of the question.
His voice mail box is full.

Why dont we demand all government leaders supporting amnesty be removed for Treason. I have read the constitution and if enough people stand together we can stop them from giving 20 million illegal invaders our country. What they are doing is treason. They are making policy while under pressure from foriegn nationals. This initself is treason. They are failing to uphold our current laws and they are wanting to change current laws for foriegn nationals, this is treason. What they are doing is Treason
The United States Constitution says and I quote
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence"
IT ALSO SAYS "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court"
We Americans are at war with illegal invaders from a foreign nation. They have marched down our streets holding a foriegn flag, They have replaced our American Flag with thier own in several schools across America. Foriegns nationals are demanding we change our laws and constitution and for any goverment official to even consider this is Treason. We Americans have a right to demand our president to up hold the laws of this nation that he promised to do. If President Bush and the rest of our goverment leaders do not do thier constitutional duty and protect our southern states from Invaders and up hold our laws then we have a right to demand they resign from office or be removed as Traitors.
Tex,
I can tell you are a Texan. There's just something about us. :D
We are rough, tough and don't take **** off of anyone.
That just proves, Bush Baby is a Kitty Bunk Brat.
He aint got the bleeps of a sheep.
I wrote Cornyn and Hutchison tonight and told them I would not vote for anyone that supports Amnesty or Guest Worker programs that leads to Citizenship. I let them know I represent 6 voters from my family. I also let them know of the 200-300 people I know, non of them support Amnesty or Guest Worker Programs.
Dixie
diana717, I would think that McCain's staffer would be very talkative.
Dixie, I'm a native Texan but I don't think your description of Texans fits me very well. As for being tough I get winded walking up a flight of stairs. As for not taking crap I had to take enough crap in my career with the state of California to fertilize Mexico.
I'm wondering if anyone else is getting emails from a conservative group that offers to e-mail all 100 senators for $29. Are they legitimate or just profiting from our anxieties and concerns. $29 isn't much for such a service but I've done this with suposedly hand delivered letters and wonder if it is legit. I'd like to hear anyone's opinion.
The money is not the issue I just don't want good people or myself to get scammed.
BTTT
Andy,
I wouldn't pay anyone for their two cents. Conservative or otherwise. You seem to have had some experience with this sort of issue. But .. with the current climate, better safe than sorry.
Just my two cents :)
