Refugees fill jobs in Cactus, Texas, after immigration sweep
Refugees fill jobs in Cactus, Texas, after immigration sweep
DAVID McLEMORE
Sixteen months ago, federal agents swept into the Panhandle town of Cactus, Texas, in Moore County as part of a massive raid of Swift & Co. beef processing plants across the country. They arrested 297 workers on immigration violations and sent hundreds more fleeing the community for fear of more raids.
Days after immigration sweeps this week at poultry processing plants in five states, Dumas City Manger Vince DiPiazza has advice for communities reeling from the effects of such raids: The more things change, the more they stay the same.
“Things were a little rocky in the short-term, but the upheaval of the raids hasn’t hurt us financially,â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

You are going European way. Now it will be refugees.
I have heard (anecdotal evidence) that your government is resettling whole tribes/nations from all over the world in the USA. Tancredo is against.

This is infuriating....this company goes out of its way to hire anyone but Americans...they could just as easily go to many depressed areas in our country and offer $12.00/hour jobs, housing assistance and everything else they are offering the refugees and get people to move to Cactus. The thing is they bypass that altogether by hiring these labor contractors who solely recruit foreign nationals. This has got to stop. The Burmese are costing the school district and other public services a boat load of extra money too.

This is going on all over the place. I just had friends who visited a mining town over last weekend where they were encouraged to find out that the mines were going to be re-opening because the Chinese need copper.
Then, they found out that the Chinese will be bringing their own people in to fill every single job associated with this project.....every job from administrative, to the mining, to the cleaning of the toilets. Nothing.....and I mean NOTHING.....will be given to Americans. Why? A chinese project and therefore the chinese feel it only fair to provide job opportunities to "their" people.
I just don't understand this......really, I don't. This country is on a fast track to hell in terms of the economy and our jobs are going to everybody BUT us. This needs to stop and stop quickly. Time to do some major house cleaning in Washington, folks.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

“There’s a few rednecks who don’t understand, but once people find out they came to America to escape persecution and then see how gentle and hardworking they are, they do what they can to make the Burmese feel at home,â€RIP Butterbean!
