BROWNSVILLE — The Texas National Guard troops stationed along the border with Mexico will leave some time in June, and the only way to keep them here is for Congress to allocate additional funding.

U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo, said although it is common knowledge the troops were to be deployed along the border on a temporary basis, he would be willing to ask for more funding to keep them for at least another year if he could get assistance from his Republican counterparts.

“It does cost money to keep them here, so if the new majority is willing to work with us and support getting money here, then let’s go ahead and do it,â€

Why not set up regular forts along the border and station regular army there or marines. Make it perminant and make sure there is no seam in the seal of the border. Use all the force and any tactic needed to secure the border. Use it as on the job training, Have them stop anything that is within a 1 mile no trespass zone. Anything in that area that is not authorized runs the risk of having a real bad day. Use mobile units, air support, drones that are armed. Whatever it takes as long as it takes.
