Allan Winneker’s new thriller hits close to home, raises awareness.

Savannah, GA (PRWEB) September 17, 2013

Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry was shot to death in 2010 during a firefight north of the Arizona-Mexico border, according to the Associated Press.

This horrific incident peaked an interest in retired marketing consultant and established author Allan Winneker, who set out to raise awareness of the dangers that surround the border between the United States and Mexico. The result is his new fictional thriller, "Border Line."

"Most Americans know very little about the Border Patrol and the risks the agents face along the border every day," Winneker says. "We should applaud their dedication and sacrifices."

His fourth published novel, Winneker draws from communication with an actual border patrol agent, as well as his own personal research, to weave the thrilling plot in "Border Line." The novel addresses the social and political impact the U.S.-Mexican border has on both sides.

In the story, border patrol agent Randall (Rusty) Powell is held captive by Mexican drug cartel members after they murder his partner in their attempt to smuggle drugs across the U.S. border. A devastating natural disaster and a dramatic turn of events bring the story to an unexpected climax.

Putting this important topic into perspective. Border Line brings the FBI, Customs & Border Protection and the infamous Mexican drug cartels together in one exciting novel that will leave readers wanting more.
