Finding a job in these economic times is tough enough if you're a US citizen, but what about all the immigrants who come to our country seeking jobs?

With layoffs happening left and right, more people are looking for work across the nation. But with so few jobs, and so many applicants, some immigrants feel they will have more luck finding employment back home.

Most immigrants who settle in the US send most of the money they make back home to their families.

Many still will stay now that Obama has promised free health care through expanded SCHIP and stimulus jobs because of no e-verify. I wish the American people would wake the hell up and realize they have been duped as this so called stimulus is only for cheap labor for unions and big labor who returned the schmucks in Congress to office and installed one in the Oval Office.

retiredairforce, you nailed it. 'Bama and the 'Crats will try to sidetrack E-Verify - when what we should be doing is making it mandatory and extending it to state contractors. If they're successful, that'll open up hundreds of thousands of jobs which could be done by increasingly desperate Americans. Many apprentice tasks require only minimal training. Does anyone know somebody who'd be willing to join a union, if they could get work in construction?

If 'Bama and the 'Crats are successful, the same people who are already taking the jobs that should have gone to Americans will be flush with taxpayers' cash. That'll put an end to reverse migration.

One thing about 'Bama, he's every bit as skilled as Slick I when it comes to disguising his intentions. I talked to a lot of the MoveOne.org volunteers during the campaign. Mostly middle class kids. Every one of them had bought into the notion that illegals only do jobs that Americans don't want to do. The only thing that bothered them was that illegals weren't paying taxes.

When I told them that Americans couldn't get entry jobs because illegals would work for less, all I got was dead silence. When I mentioned that it costs more to incarcerate our own people than it would to send them to an Ivy League School and that incarceration guarantees that those in jail won't have a chance to learn what it means to be a responsible adult, all I got was more dead silence.

The problem is that almost nobody outside of forums is talking about putting Americans first in this magnificent country.
