RGV Agents Encounter a Six and Two Year Old Abandoned in Roma, Texas

ROMA, Texas – Border Patrol agents continue to locate abandoned children along the Rio Grande.

Yesterday evening, Rio Grande City agents working in Roma, Texas, located a toddler and his sister near the Roma Port of Entry.

When the agents encountered the children, a search of the area determined that they were abandoned at the location. During the encounter, the six year old girl advised agents she was from Honduras and that the two year old she was with, was her younger sibling.

The child provided agents a handwritten note containing contact information of a relative in the United States. She also had two Honduran birth certificates in her possession, further corroborating her story.

With the information gathered from the note, agents contacted the children’s aunt who lives in the United States. The aunt told agents she was unaware of the current whereabouts of the children’s parents. The children were transported to a Border Patrol station where they medically evaluated and processed accordingly.

“The fact that these children were left alone by human smugglers exemplifies their blatant disregard for the safety of the individuals they smuggle”, stated Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Patrol Agent Brian S. Hastings.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation. The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.

Go get the illegal alien Aunt and deport her with those children back to Honduras. They are their presidents responsibility to find the relatives back home.

They cannot be allowed to DUMP their children over our border like unwanted boxes of cats!

These people are disgusting. The mother dumped 2 over the border...how have did she leave behind, three more? Is she pregnant with more. These people are sickening!

Deport every last one of them.
