RGV Border Patrol Agents Rescue 90 Illegal Aliens

EDINBURG, Texas – On Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued 90 illegal aliens and apprehended 71 in three separate incidents.

Yesterday, Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) agents working with the Starr County Sheriff’s Office apprehended 71 illegal aliens discovered in a trailer home in Garceno, Texas. Among the large group were women and children. The subjects were found crammed inside the small residence with no PPE.

The smuggled aliens were from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico.

Later that afternoon, Corpus Christi Border Patrol agents received a call from San Patricio County authorities requesting assistance with suspected illegal aliens concealed inside a moving train car (grain hopper).

Further investigation determined that one of the trapped illegal aliens had called 911 requesting assistance as the group feared for their safety. Authorities safely extracted 14 subjects. The subjects were evaluated by medical personal and deemed to be in good health.

The smuggled aliens were from Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.

Last night, McAllen Border Patrol agents were dispatched to a rescue beacon activation near the Rio Grande in Mission, Texas. Agents responding to the beacon located 48 subjects. One of the subjects requested medical assistance due to an injury to her ankle sustained during her travels. She was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released.

Additionally, RGV agents apprehended 28 illegal aliens within a stash house that was located in Hidalgo County.

All subjects are being processed accordingly.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation. The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.
