Rio Grande Valley Agents Arrest Gang Member

FALFURRIAS, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents arrest a gang member illegally crossing the border in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
Yesterday afternoon, Falfurrias agents arrested a Salvadoran national after he attempted to circumvent the immigration checkpoint by traversing Brooks County ranch lands.
During processing, record checks revealed the man is a member of the Mara-Salvatrucha gang, commonly known as the MS-13. Record checks also revealed multiple arrest including vehicle theft and burglary in Los Angeles, California.
Border Patrol referred the man for criminal prosecution.
The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.
Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation.
