DES MOINES, Iowa -- Despite a newly launched attack by President Obama’s reelection campaign, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney continued to take a hard line on illegal immigration on Wednesday, saying that people in the country illegally deserve no “special pathwayâ€

I would love to have taped this; but in watching Wolf Blitzer around 5:30 last night; CNN played a tape of Romney from 2007 calling for amnesty.

Romney is another corporate owned liar. This man will lie about anything to be elected President, even his own name.

Romney said he would lay out a more comprehensive position on the problem of illegal immigration later in the campaign.
Oh really? I believe we need to know what his 'comprehensive' plan is now.

This clip is edited to leave out most of what he said. The Romney Campaign is not the only one which can be accused of deceptive editing.

You cut off the rest of his sentence, in which he says "but they should not be given a special pathway, a special guarantee that all of them get to stay here for the rest of their lives merely by virtue of having come here illegally, and that, I think, is the great flaw in the final bill that came forward from the Senate." Romney is not now, nor has he ever been, pro-amnesty, even when he was running for the Senate against Ted Kennedy. Anyone who wants the truth needs more than 14 seconds.

Wait a minute!!! Newt you have taken Mitt out of context.

Search the web for the entire 7 minute clip.

Mitt makes it very clear that no one should get preferential treatment for coming here illegally, but that they should be able to sign up for citizenship, but then return home and wait their turn in line. Watch the entire clip!

You've lost credibility on this one Newt! LOW BLOW and DISHONEST. Kind of like cheating on your wife, eh? Old habits die hard.

"A Romney spokeswoman later indicated that the clip snipped off a crucial part of the2007 interview, in which Romney said illegal immigrants, “should not be given a special pathway, a special guarantee that all of them get to stay here for the rest of their lives merely by virtue of having come here illegally.â€

My thought exactly. Why can't he "lay out" his "more comprehensive position" NOW? People need to know this NOW. I think it's just smoke and mirrors!
