    Both campaigns avoid immigration debate

    September 19, 2008

    When we called for more discussion of the immigration issue in the presidential campaign, this is not what we had in mind.

    We wanted John McCain and Barack Obama to spell out what they would do, if elected, to solve the nation's immigration problem, and how they would accomplish it. We also would like for them to explain how they plan to tackle the three challenges central to any immigration reform effort: securing the border, deciding the fate of an estimated 12 million immigrants here illegally, and preserving the country's proud tradition of welcoming legal immigrants.

    Instead, what we get is another round of “He said, He saidâ€
    NO AMNESTY

    Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

    They are avoiding talking about it to us, but they seem fine to do it for the hispanics.
