It’s unclear when the beleaguered secretary will make the trip. President Joe Biden has become a target of criticism for taking a beach vacation trip over the weekend as the crisis at the border crossing spiraled out of control, with law enforcement now estimating that almost 15,000 illegal immigrants have arrived at the site.

Primarily Haitian illegal immigrants continue to arrive at the bridge, many of them coming from countries such as Brazil and Chile. Potential migrants have been led to believe they have a strong chance to crossing the border and receiving legal permanent residency in the United States.

The Biden government claimed to have begun deportation flights on Sunday. Anonymous government officials claimed that as many as five to eight deportations flights a day would be used to expel the migrants, a development that could represent some of the most robust immigration enforcement the Biden administration has resorted to since taking office. Biden stands a strong chance of setting a single-year record for illegal immigration in 2021.

Former Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan has demanded Mayorkas’ resignation, pointing to the Democrat insider’s complicity in the opening of the United States’ southern border and its disastrous consequences.

Amid rising public discontent with its ‘America Last’ border and immigration policy, Biden administration personnel have begun questioning the utility of leaving the nation’s borders open. A court ruling has compelled the administration to restore President Donald Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy, which required fraudulent asylum seekers to litigate their cases in US immigration courts outside of the country.
